Medieval Floors is a two-line collection Kapriz carries for buyers who want one brand to cover the whole house: rigid, 100% waterproof SPC vinyl plank for kitchens, baths, and basements, and real engineered European oak for living rooms and bedrooms. The SPC lines run a 6.5mm to 14mm stone-composite core with a 20 to 30 mil wear layer and an attached IXPE acoustic pad; the engineered lines are UV-lacquered European White Oak over a stable multi-ply core. SPC carries GREENGUARD Gold and FloorScore certification and a Limited Lifetime Residential warranty, while the oak lines carry a Lifetime Structural and 35-Year Residential Wear warranty. Is Medieval Floors waterproof?

The SPC vinyl collections are 100% waterproof and safe for kitchens, baths, and basements. The engineered oak collections are real wood, so they are water-resistant rather than waterproof — fine for normal living spaces, but not for standing water, so wipe spills promptly.

Can these floors go over radiant heat?

Yes, with limits. The SPC lines install over radiant-heated subfloors with the elements at least 1/2″ below the planks and a maximum surface temperature of 85°F. The engineered oak is warranted only over hydronic (warm-water) radiant systems, never electric, with a maximum subfloor surface of 82°F.

Can I install Medieval Floors myself?

The SPC collections use a glueless UNILIN click and float over the subfloor, which many confident DIYers can handle. The engineered oak can be nailed, glued, or floated and — because real wood must acclimate and the subfloor moisture must be verified — is usually best left to a professional installer.
