Quick Answer
What is Rocky Venus?
Rocky Venus is an engineered hardwood floor built around a light golden tan color, with visible knots, stronger grain, and mineral streaks for a rich, inviting look.
Is it waterproof?
Engineered hardwood is water-resistant, not waterproof. Rocky Venus handles the everyday humidity swings that trouble solid wood, though it isn't built for wet areas like showers or flood-prone slabs — for those, a waterproof floor is the right call.
Can it be refinished?
Not every engineered floor is sandable — it comes down to how much real wood sits on top. Rocky Venus carries a 4mm veneer, and can usually take two or three professional refinishes.
What does the plank surface look like?
Each Rocky Venus plank shows a broad, quiet cathedral figure with a distinctive filled knot and a dark ring near the centre, plus a light scatter of pin marks. It has more visible character than the cleaner boards in its range, without crossing into heavy rustic knots, so it reads warm and lived-in rather than busy. As a real-wood veneer, that character, knot and all, varies naturally across every board.
Will this color work in my room?
Rocky Venus is warm and mid-light, so it takes light well without washing out. In the bright, window-filled room we shot, the midday sun brings up the honeyed, amber side of the tan; in a lower-light or north-facing room it reads deeper and more caramel but stays warm. That warmth is exactly what makes it work against cool, high-contrast schemes, where matte black, charcoal, and grey all look better over a golden floor.

Overview
Rocky Venus is a light golden tan with a warm, honeyed glow, and it is the one shade in this group with a bit of real grain character. Look closely and you'll find a round filled knot with a dark ring near the board centre, a few scattered pin marks, and a calm cathedral figure across the broad planks: enough character to feel like a real board, not so much that it turns rustic. We photographed Rocky Venus in a modern open-plan living room with a matte-black kitchen, charcoal seating, and pops of yellow, and that high-contrast setting is where the golden tan does its best work, keeping all that black and grey from feeling cold. It is an engineered hardwood floor, and the real knot detail varies naturally from plank to plank. It suits open kitchen-and-living spaces and busy family rooms that can use a floor with a little warmth and personality.
A golden tan with a genuine knot or two: warmth and character for a bold, modern room.
