COREtec Pro Premium — 5.2–6mm Waterproof SPC Vinyl Plank (COREtec Pro)

COREtec Pro Premium is the top tier of the COREtec Pro line and its thickest core — a rigid SPC plank offered in two formats: a 5.2mm 9″ × 72″ board and a 6mm 7″ × 48″ board, both 100% waterproof. Each plank carries a 20 mil commercial-grade wear layer and a pre-attached cork underlayment, and installs with an angle-tap / drop-lock floating click. It is GREENGUARD Gold certified and backed by a 30-Year Residential Limited and 15-Year Heavy Commercial warranty. Kapriz carries 18 colors — the widest tonal range in the line — available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Pro Premium collection

The 18 Pro Premium colors span the widest range in the COREtec Pro line. The deepest — Cheshire Elm, Stonehaven Maple, and Warwick Maple — are smoky, dramatic browns for bold, well-lit rooms, while the mid-range runs through balanced, warm tones like Southampton Oak, Bedford Oak, and Brookfield Maple. The lightest — Cambridge Elm, Kent Oak, and Mercer Oak — are pale, airy neutrals that open a space up. Because the collection comes in both a 9″ and a 7″ plank, check each color’s product card to confirm its width and per-carton coverage before ordering.

Best uses for Pro Premium

  • Kitchens & bathrooms — the 100% waterproof SPC core handles spills and humidity.
  • Basements & below-grade rooms — dimensionally stable over concrete with the right moisture barrier.
  • High-traffic & pet homes — the thickest core in the line plus a 20 mil wear layer take heavy daily use.
  • Statement & whole-home installs — the wide 9″ plank and broad palette suit feature rooms and open-plan layouts.
  • Rentals & flips — durable, easy-clean, and quick to install glueless.
  • Radiant-heated floors — compatible with in-floor heat within its rated limit.

Choosing a color from the Pro Premium collection

With the line’s widest palette, Pro Premium lets you go either way: the pale Cambridge Elm or Kent Oak brighten and enlarge a room, while the dramatic Cheshire Elm or Stonehaven Maple make a warm, grounded statement in a bright space. The 9″ plank suits large, open floors; the 6mm 7″ plank gives the firmest, most substantial underfoot feel. Order a sample and view it under your own daylight and evening light before deciding — our Santa Clara showroom team can help you compare colors and widths and confirm the current dye lot.

Frequently asked questions about the Pro Premium collection

What plank sizes and thickness does Pro Premium come in?
Pro Premium is offered in two formats: a 5.2mm 9″ × 72″ plank (36.64 sq ft per carton, Enhanced Painted Bevel) and a 6mm 7″ × 48″ plank (16.97 sq ft per carton, Enhanced Integrated Bevel). The 6mm board is the thickest core in the COREtec Pro line.
Is Pro Premium waterproof?
Yes. The rigid SPC core is 100% waterproof, so Pro Premium is suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements. Seal the perimeter with silicone caulk in bathrooms during installation.
How many boxes will I need?
It depends on the plank you choose: divide your room’s square footage by 36.64 (9″ plank) or 16.97 (7″ plank) and add about 10% for cuts and waste. Our showroom team can confirm the exact carton count for your project.
Can I install Pro Premium myself, and do I need underlayment?
Yes — it is a glueless floating floor with an angle-tap / drop-lock click, installed over a flat, dry subfloor (flat to within 3/16″ over 10 feet; moisture-test concrete first). A cork underlayment is already attached, so do not add a separate pad underneath.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. All 18 Pro Premium colors are available to order through our Santa Clara showroom, and we recommend ordering a sample to view under your own lighting before you buy.
