Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Cheshire Elm suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Cheshire Elm features a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.50 mm — made for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a common step-up in wear-layer thickness, where the extra protection starts to matter.

Will it hold up to daily life?

At 20 mil, Cheshire Elm's wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 5.2mm construction adds rigidity underfoot, so the floor handles busy rooms without showing wear quickly.

What does the plank surface look like?

The plank surface of Cheshire Elm is mostly quiet grain: long vertical lines with thin dark mineral streaks and a few small knots for character. There is far less knotting here than on the rustic, heavily figured boards in the range, which is what gives Cheshire Elm its more polished look. A 20 mil commercial-grade wear layer protects the print and keeps the espresso tone even underfoot.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The cork acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Cheshire Elm is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Cheshire Elm carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?
