Quick Answer

What is Bedford Oak?

Bedford Oak is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor built around a soft warm beige color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical space.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Kitchen reality — dropped pots, splashes, and daily mop-and-go cleaning — won't faze the planks, as long as you wipe spills up promptly and dry any standing water. Not approved for outdoor installation; test the subfloor for moisture before installing.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Bedford Oak comes with a 20 mil wear layer — equivalent to 0.50 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a common step-up in wear-layer thickness, where the extra protection starts to matter.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Dog nails, cat claws, litter grit, water-bowl splash — Bedford Oak's 20 mil wear layer and finish resist the scratches and scuffs a pet household puts on a floor, whereas a thinner LVT wear layer marks more easily.

What does the plank surface look like?

The board shows a flowing straight grain with long vertical figure, fine hairline grain lines, and only faint pin knots, a printed wood-look surface with minimal character. Board to board the look is consistent, which gives a tailored, even floor that suits a more formal room.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The cork acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Bedford Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Bedford Oak carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

The taupe undertone makes this an easy partner for richer accents; cognac leather, warm metallics, cream upholstery, and marble all sit comfortably against it. It is light enough to keep a room open, but the wash of taupe keeps it from feeling cold, so it bridges traditional and transitional rooms well.

Overview

Bedford Oak is a soft, warm beige carrying a subtle taupe undertone and a faint pale wash, a polished neutral that suits a living room meant to feel put-together. Its wood-look print follows a flowing straight grain with long, quiet figure and very few character marks, so it reads calm and formal rather than rustic. The plank rides on a rigid SPC core that is fully waterproof, with an attached cork underlayment pre-bonded to the back of every board for a softer, quieter step underfoot. Backed by a 30-year residential limited warranty, Bedford Oak is built to stay refined through years of everyday living.

A refined warm beige with a cushioned step and a 30-year residential warranty behind it.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the transitional living room we shot, Bedford Oak spreads beneath a cognac leather sofa, gold-accented side tables, and marble tops, with white wainscot trim around the walls. The warm beige reads as a quiet, luxe base under the warm-white paneling, letting the cognac and gold carry the glamour while the floor stays quiet underneath in a soft, neutral tone.
Will it match my cabinets?
Bedford Oak works well with the room's white wainscot and painted trim, giving a clean, classic contrast between the warm beige floor and crisp millwork. If your cabinetry is a warmer wood-tone instead, the taupe undertone still bridges to it without clashing, so the floor suits both painted and stained casework.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
Even away from windows, Bedford Oak keeps its soft warmth and does not turn grey under lamplight, so it works in an interior room or a finished basement. The fully waterproof SPC core means below-grade moisture is not a worry, and the attached cork underlayment takes some of the hardness out of a concrete-slab floor.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Indoor plants are an easy match for Bedford Oak. The warm, neutral beige makes a soft setting for green foliage, and the waterproof surface means an occasional drip or overflow from a planter wipes up without harming the floor; just blot spills promptly rather than letting them sit.
