Quick Answer

What is Morisot?

Morisot is a genuine engineered hardwood floor in a medium beige shade, with a natural hardwood grain for a relaxed, homey feel.

Is it waterproof?

No — don't count on engineered wood as a waterproof floor. It's a more moisture-stable choice than solid hardwood and works over concrete or below grade, but the wood surface means water-resistant is the accurate description, not waterproof.

Can it be refinished?

The veneer is what decides it — that thin layer of real wood is all a sander has to work with. At 4mm, Morisot can usually take two or three professional refinishes.

What does the plank surface look like?

The Morisot planks balance warmth with real texture: peaked cathedral arches rise across each board, several dark knots crack finely at their centers, and mineral flecks scatter through the grain. It reads as a natural, characterful oak rather than a flawless one, and the knots are part of the appeal. The wire-brushed surface deepens the grain's relief, and as real oak the peaks and knots fall differently on every plank.

Will this color work in my room?

In the photographed bedroom, Morisot sits under soft morning light diffused through sheer curtains, and that gentle, low-contrast light is where the caramel-beige is at its best, warm and even, glowing rather than glaring. Direct midday sun would push the golden undertone brighter and more amber; evening or lamp light settles it into a deeper honey. Because the tone is already warm, it keeps a north-facing or curtained room from ever feeling cold, which is much of why it works so well in a bedroom.

Overview

Morisot brings the golden end of this range forward, a caramel-beige with a gentle amber undertone that feels sunlit even before the light hits it. A peaked cathedral figure rises across the boards, marked by several dark knots with fine cracks and scattered mineral flecks, so there is honest wood character under all that warmth. Morisot is European Oak engineered hardwood, GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions — a reassuring detail for a bedroom floor — with a real-wood veneer and a wire-brushed surface. It was photographed in a serene Scandinavian bedroom washed in soft morning light, where the caramel tone brings quiet warmth to a room built on calm. It is a floor for restful spaces you want to feel gently golden rather than stark.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed room, Morisot grounds a light Scandinavian bedroom: a low platform bed, open wood-tone shelving, an upholstered accent chair, and a slim hairpin side table, dressed with botanical-print bedding, ceramics, framed art and potted greenery. Cream linens and warm mid-brown furniture sit easily on the caramel floor, while black-and-white textiles keep the scheme from going too soft. Cream-painted door and window trim frames it all in a matching warm white. The overall effect is calm and organic, with the golden floor and the plants doing most of the warming.
Will it match my cabinets?
There isn't cabinetry in the photographed bedroom, but the cream-painted door and window trim shows how Morisot behaves against warm white, where the caramel tone glows a little brighter beside it without any clash. In a kitchen or bath, the same warmth pairs naturally with cream, white and wood-tone cabinets, and it gives cool sage or soft blue cabinets a grounding warmth from below. Very cool grey cabinets are the one combination to test first, since the floor's golden cast can make a flat grey look slightly colder by contrast.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
This one is styled with plants for a reason: Morisot's warm caramel tone is a natural backdrop for greenery, and the photographed bedroom leans into it with potted plants and botanical-print bedding. Green reads especially well over a warm, golden floor, the two being complementary, so foliage looks fresh and vivid rather than washed out. For the floor's sake, keep saucers under any pots and avoid standing water, and set unglazed or porous planters on a tray rather than directly on the wood, since trapped moisture is hard on any real-wood finish. With that small care, plants and this caramel oak make an easy, warm pairing.
