Quick Answer
What is Vienne?
Vienne is a real-wood engineered hardwood floor in a warm mid-beige shade, with a natural hardwood grain for a rich, inviting look.
Is it waterproof?
Vienne is real wood, so the honest answer is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Its construction shrugs off normal seasonal humidity far better than solid planks, but standing water left to sit can still damage the wood veneer.
Can it be refinished?
The veneer is what decides it — that thin layer of real wood is all a sander has to work with. At 4mm, Vienne can usually take two or three professional refinishes.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close the Vienne planks are lively: the cathedral figure swirls open across the board, with mineral streaking and short ray flecks scattered through the grain and small dark-centered knots dotting the surface. It is more animated than a straight-grained floor, so each board has plenty to look at. The wire-brushed texture follows those swirls and adds a tactile ripple, and as real oak the figure never repeats plank to plank.
Will this color work in my room?
Vienne creates a comfortable backdrop for interiors that balance traditional and modern elements. Warm white, cream, or soft greige walls complement its inviting undertone, while linen upholstery in sand or oatmeal keeps the palette relaxed and cohesive. A deeper wood coffee table or dining table introduces natural contrast, and aged-metal accents add character without making the space feel overly traditional.
The warm tan undertone pairs equally well with crisp white trim and richer earth-inspired décor, making it easy to refresh the room over time without changing the floor. In bright daylight, Vienne feels light and welcoming. As evening light softens, the color develops a richer golden warmth that enhances its comfortable, welcoming character.

Overview
Vienne is a warm mid-beige with soft tan undertones that feels welcoming rather than formal. Its balanced color makes it one of the easiest floors in the collection to build a transitional interior around, comfortably blending classic warmth with clean, contemporary styling.
The grain carries lively cathedral movement accented by subtle mineral streaks, short ray flecks, and scattered small knots that naturally vary from plank to plank, giving the floor authentic character without becoming busy. Vienne is wire-brushed European Oak engineered hardwood finished with a clear UV lacquer, featuring a 4mm real-wood oak veneer over a stable engineered core. Because the veneer is genuine European Oak, every board displays its own unique grain pattern.

Frequently asked questions
How do I estimate how much flooring I need?
Pro tip: don't return extras after install — colors can shift slightly between production runs. If you need 5 replacement planks in 2 years, your only exact match is the stock you kept. Bring floor-plan dimensions into the showroom and our staff will walk through the calculation with you.
Do you offer samples I can take home?
What's your return policy?
Defective products are Kapriz's problem, not yours — manufacturing defects, wrong product, or transit damage documented on the delivery receipt all get free replacement or refund. Note any visible damage on the receipt before the driver leaves.
Why returns aren't standard: reverse logistics on a flooring pallet runs $300–800 with damage risk Kapriz absorbs.
Written exceptions (rare): 25% restocking fee + customer pays freight. Opened cartons, custom orders, and discontinued runs are never eligible.
Pro tip: unsure how Vienne will look in your home? Call us — sample loan available (confirm Vienne is in showroom; inventory rotates).
