Quick Answer

What is Prime IV?

Prime IV is a real-wood engineered hardwood floor in a warm-taupe medium beige shade, with a smooth, premium grain and very few knots for a versatile, uncluttered look.

Is it waterproof?

Engineered hardwood is water-resistant, not waterproof. Prime IV handles the everyday humidity swings that trouble solid wood, though it isn't built for wet areas like showers or flood-prone slabs — for those, a waterproof floor is the right call.

Can it be refinished?

Unlike solid hardwood, engineered hardwood can only be refinished as far as its real-wood veneer allows. With its 4mm veneer, Prime IV can usually take two or three professional refinishes.

What does the plank surface look like?

The Prime IV planks are about restraint: long, straight grain runs the length of the board with a soft cathedral arch here and there, a subtle shift in figure, and little else to interrupt it. A few pin knots and a single faint mineral streak are the only real character marks. The wire-brushed texture adds a tactile interest the quiet grain doesn't, and as real oak each board keeps a gentle, individual variation.

Will this color work in my room?

In the bright, side-lit living room where Prime IV was photographed, this warm mid-beige stays light and clean, the warm taupe keeping it from ever looking sterile against soft-white walls. Strong daylight flattens the grain further and lets the color act as a smooth, continuous field. In a dimmer room it would gain a little depth without going dark, which is what makes an even, low-character tone like this so easy to place. It works with cool and warm furnishings alike.

Overview

Prime IV is the calm one, a medium beige with just enough warm taupe in it to feel soft, and grain so quiet it nearly resolves into a single even tone. There is only a scattering of pin knots and a faint mineral streak near one corner, with long, settled grain lines, which is exactly what a minimal-modern room asks of a floor. This is European Oak engineered hardwood with a real-wood veneer and a wire-brushed surface, backed by a 25-year residential finish warranty. In its photographed living room, Prime IV stretches beneath a large sectional and tall corner windows, doing the quiet work of a backdrop rather than a focal point. It is a floor for people who want warmth underfoot and a clean, uninterrupted field of color.

A soft medium beige oak with quiet, even grain, a backdrop rather than a statement.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed room, Prime IV lays out beneath a large sectional sofa dressed in matching throw pillows, with tall corner windows wrapping two walls in daylight. The look is minimal and modern, and the floor plays its part by staying understated, an even, calm field of medium beige that lets the sectional and the light be the story. Crisp white baseboard trim frames it without any contrast drama. It is the kind of installed floor you stop noticing in the best way, because nothing about it competes.
Will it match my cabinets?
Against the room's white baseboard trim, Prime IV reads as a soft, warm neutral, and that same quality makes it flexible with cabinetry. White and greige cabinets keep the minimal look clean; deeper greens or navies borrow warmth from the beige to feel less severe; natural wood-tone cabinets blend without clashing. Because the floor's own grain is so quiet, it won't fight a patterned counter or a bold cabinet color.
