What is Prime IV?
Prime IV is a real-wood engineered hardwood floor in a warm-taupe medium beige shade, with a smooth, premium grain and very few knots for a versatile, uncluttered look.
Is it waterproof?
Engineered hardwood is water-resistant, not waterproof. Prime IV handles the everyday humidity swings that trouble solid wood, though it isn't built for wet areas like showers or flood-prone slabs — for those, a waterproof floor is the right call.
Can it be refinished?
Unlike solid hardwood, engineered hardwood can only be refinished as far as its real-wood veneer allows. With its 4mm veneer, Prime IV can usually take two or three professional refinishes.
What does the plank surface look like?
The Prime IV planks are about restraint: long, straight grain runs the length of the board with a soft cathedral arch here and there, a subtle shift in figure, and little else to interrupt it. A few pin knots and a single faint mineral streak are the only real character marks. The wire-brushed texture adds a tactile interest the quiet grain doesn't, and as real oak each board keeps a gentle, individual variation.
