Quick Answer

What is Rome?

Rome is a wood-look SPC floor in a warm honeyed brown tone, with a thick, heavy-wear surface for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Kitchen reality — dropped pots, splashes, and daily mop-and-go cleaning — won't faze the planks, as long as you wipe spills up promptly and dry any standing water. Not approved for outdoor installation; test the subfloor for moisture before installing.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Rome comes with a 30 mil wear layer — about 0.76 mm — recommended for heavy residential use and many commercial applications, giving you exceptional protection against scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear. The extra thickness gives it more long-term wear capacity than thinner layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Dog nails, cat claws, litter grit, water-bowl splash — Rome's 30 mil wear layer and finish resist the scratches and scuffs a pet household puts on a floor, whereas a thinner LVT wear layer marks more easily.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each Rome plank shows a straight grain arcing into cathedral figure through the center, with a strong flame pattern down the board. Several small knots and short character marks and fissures are scattered across the surface. The mix gives the floor a natural, characterful read while the boards still line up cleanly.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 2mm IXPE anti-microbial acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Rome is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Rome likes bright, daylit rooms. In this dining area's strong midday light the honeyed brown looks warm and clear, and the small knots read as gentle detail rather than busyness. In softer light it would deepen toward amber and feel cozier. Rome pairs well with white cabinetry, natural wood-tone furniture, and warm neutral walls.

Overview

Rome is a warm honeyed brown with a soft amber undertone, a light brown with a bit more character than most. Straight grain arcs into cathedral figure through the plank centers, and several small knots and short fissures dot the boards for a natural, lived-in look. In the room shown, Rome runs beneath a minimalist dining set of a wood table and chairs, with white cabinetry and crisp white walls keeping the scene simple. The printed wood-look surface over a stone-polymer core shrugs off spills and foot traffic, which suits an eating area. It is a good floor for open-plan dining and kitchen spaces where you want warmth and a little grain interest.

A honeyed, lightly knotted brown built for a busy open-plan dining area.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
Installed, Rome fills a minimalist dining area in bright daylight. The honeyed boards sit under a natural wood-tone dining table and chairs with a low sofa nearby, while shelf decor, a piece of abstract art, and a fruit bowl keep the styling casual. White cabinetry and crisp white walls let the floor's warmth and knots stand out. The room reads simple and family-friendly, with Rome bringing the main dose of warmth and grain.
Will it match my cabinets?
Rome pairs cleanly with white and off-white cabinetry, exactly as shown here, where the white cabinets let the honeyed floor and its knots read clearly. Natural wood-tone cabinets also suit it if you keep them a shade apart from the plank. Deep or black cabinets give a strong, deliberate contrast against the lighter floor.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a windowless basement, Rome reads as a warm amber-brown, a little deeper without daylight to brighten it. Warm bulbs play up the honey and amber, while cool light mutes them toward a plain brown. The knots keep it looking natural even under artificial light, which helps a lower-level room feel less flat.
