What is Mallard?

Mallard is a wood-look SPC floor built around a soft olive-cast muted taupe color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Powder-room splashes, daily wet feet, and towel drops wipe up without harm when cleaned promptly. Indoor use only — not for installation inside showers or wet rooms, and outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The surface of Mallard is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — that's approximately 0.51 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, offering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Kitchen stress test: dropped cutlery, pans slid from oven to counter, refrigerator casters, and dishwasher spray — Mallard's 20 mil wear layer and finish handle the spills, dropped pots, and dragged stools of daily kitchen use, and wipe clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner.

What does the plank surface look like?

Look closely at a Mallard plank and the cathedral grain reads as long, sweeping arches with a gentle, unforced figure. Small knots turn up here and there, sparse and modest in size, alongside faint mineral streaking. The print shifts noticeably from one board to the next, so laid out as a floor the boards read as individual pieces instead of a repeating pattern.
