Quick Answer

What is La Via?

La Via is a genuine engineered hardwood floor in a medium beige tone, with balanced natural character and moderate knots for an earthy, grounded feel.

Is it waterproof?

La Via isn't waterproof — it's genuine wood. What its cross-layered plywood core buys you is stability: it resists the swelling and gapping that moisture causes in solid planks, which is often why engineered can be approved for locations solid wood isn't — check the manufacturer's installation requirements. Wipe spills promptly anyway.

Can it be refinished?

Two different things: a light, compatible recoat can often refresh the finish without touching the veneer at all, while a full sanding is limited by the real wood on top. With a 3mm veneer, this floor has enough veneer to support real, professional refinishing down the road. Day to day, a lighter touch — a buff-and-recoat or a deep clean — usually does the job; a flooring professional can confirm exactly how much sanding room this veneer leaves.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, La Via's grain runs in open, cathedral-shaped arches that shift width and direction from board to board rather than repeating a fixed motif. Dark knots appear in scattered clusters, medium in size, each with a small swirl of grain pulled tight around it, and small mineral flecks show up here and there across the surface. The brushed, UV-cured oil finish keeps that texture visible instead of smoothing it into a flat sheen, so the grain movement and knot character read clearly rather than being polished away.

Will this color work in my room?

La Via's shade of medium beige carries a soft, neutral warmth rather than a strong yellow or pink undertone, so it stays easy to work with under most lighting. In a brighter room it lifts toward a warm, sandy tone; in a room with less natural light it deepens into a more neutral beige without turning ashy or cold. It pairs comfortably with warm whites, soft grays, and mid-tone wood furniture, and works best as a background color rather than a bold accent -- a good fit if you want the walls or furnishings to carry the color statement instead of the floor.

Overview

La Via's open cathedral grain moves across each plank in wide, flowing arches, broken here and there by clusters of dark knots and small mineral flecks that keep the surface from reading as a repeating pattern. The color sits in a warm medium beige with a soft, even neutral undertone -- light enough to keep a room bright without turning cold or gray. Each 7-1/2 inch board pairs a European Oak veneer with a stable, 8-ply engineered core, finished with a UV-cured oil over a brushed texture that keeps the grain readable instead of glossing it flat. That combination of a wide board and an active, cathedral-style grain suits open living areas, dining rooms, and bedrooms where you want the floor to carry visual interest -- it's less suited to a room already busy with pattern, like bold tile or a heavily patterned rug, where it would compete rather than complement. Best suited to someone who wants real, natural movement in the grain -- if what suits you better is a quieter, more uniform surface, a calmer-grained European Oak elsewhere in the collection is the smarter pick.

Wide-board European Oak with cathedral grain that never repeats itself.

Frequently asked questions

Will it match my cabinets?
This medium beige tone sits in the middle of the color range, so it pairs with a wide span of cabinet colors. Cream, warm white, and soft greige cabinets make for a low-contrast, cohesive look, while darker cabinets -- navy, charcoal, or deep espresso tones -- set up a clear, intentional contrast against the floor's warmth. A strong cool-gray or stark-white cabinet finish is the one combination to watch, since it can read a little flat next to this shade's warm undertone; warming up trim or hardware finishes helps bridge the two.
