Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Powder-room splashes, daily wet feet, and towel drops wipe up without harm when cleaned promptly. Indoor use only — not for installation inside showers or wet rooms, and outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.51 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers in everyday durability.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Kitchen stress test: dropped cutlery, pans slid from oven to counter, refrigerator casters, and dishwasher spray — Gold Coast Acacia's 20 mil wear layer and finish handle the spills, dropped pots, and dragged stools of daily kitchen use, and wipe clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, Gold Coast Acacia shows a flowing, wild grain that sweeps across each plank in long arcs and open curves. Splits and fissures cut through the figure, and small knots turn up sparingly along the boards, so each plank looks a little different from the last. It is a printed surface, but the print has enough movement and variation that the floor reads rustic and characterful, not a flat, mechanical repeat.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

There's no separate underlayment to buy and no pad to choose. Gold Coast Acacia's factory-attached acoustic pad comes bonded to every plank and dampens footfall noise throughout the home — one less material decision and one less install step.
