Gaia Floor — Waterproof SPC & eSPC Vinyl Plank Flooring

Gaia Floor builds engineered waterproof vinyl plank flooring designed for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and high-traffic family spaces. The eTerra collection — Gaia’s flagship line — covers three tiers (White, Red, Black) all built on a 100% waterproof core, a 20-mil commercial-grade wear layer, and a pre-attached IXPE antimicrobial sound-deadening pad. Every Gaia eTerra plank ships from Fremont, CA (about 18 miles from our Santa Clara showroom), carries FloorScore + GreenGuard Gold certifications for indoor air quality, and is backed by a 50-Year Residential / 10-Year Commercial Limited warranty. Kapriz Hardwood Floors carries 28 colors across the eTerra line.

What makes Gaia Floor different

  • 20-mil commercial-grade wear layer across every tier. Most residential SPC ships with 12-mil. Gaia’s 20-mil layer handles pet claws, dropped dishes, dragged furniture, and contractor tool damage during install — built for real-world traffic, not lab conditions.
  • Pre-attached IXPE antimicrobial sound-deadening pad. No second underlayment needed (and adding one voids the warranty). Required for both the waterproof seal and the IIC 72/73 acoustic rating — important for upper-floor installations in multi-level homes.
  • FloorScore Certified + GreenGuard Gold. Both certifications independently verify low-VOC indoor air quality. GreenGuard Gold meets stricter VOC limits for schools and healthcare environments — relevant for households with children, pets, or anyone sensitive to off-gassing.
  • 50-Year Residential / 10-Year Commercial Limited warranty. Prorated after first 5 years. Covers manufacturing defects with original purchaser, single-site installation, when manufacturer install spec is followed (including the 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier required over all concrete subfloors).
  • Compatible with radiant heat up to 80°F floor surface temperature. Approved for embedded electric or hydronic radiant systems. New concrete or gypcrete subfloors must cure for minimum 4 weeks before operating radiant heat.
  • Fremont, CA warehouse. Same-region inventory keeps lead times short — typically 3-7 business days from order to local delivery. Approximately 18 miles from our Santa Clara showroom for cross-checks on dye lots and color matching.

Frequently asked questions about Gaia Floor

Where is Gaia Floor manufactured?
Gaia Floor manufactures internationally and ships to U.S. distribution centers including their Fremont, California warehouse at 40577 Albrae Street. Kapriz orders from Fremont — about 18 miles from our Santa Clara showroom — which keeps lead times short and lets us cross-check color matching in person before shipping to your project.
What’s the difference between SPC and eSPC?
SPC (Solid Polymer Core) is a single-layer rigid stone-polymer composite — what the eTerra White Series uses. eSPC (engineered SPC) adds balancing LVT sheets above and below the SPC core for extra dimensional stability across temperature and humidity swings — what the Red Series and Black Series use. eSPC is the better choice for wide-plank or long-plank installations, multi-level homes, and rooms with seasonal humidity changes. SPC is fully adequate for narrower planks in stable indoor environments at a lower price.
Is Gaia Floor good for kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes — every Gaia eTerra series is 100% waterproof and approved for installation in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and laundry rooms. The integrated moisture barrier in the SPC core means standing water on the surface won’t buckle the plank or leak through to the subfloor. Concrete subfloors require a 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier underneath for the warranty to apply — that’s standard practice across the SPC industry.
Can I install Gaia Floor over radiant heat?
Yes, with limits. Maximum permitted floor surface temperature is 80°F (26.67°C). Use only embedded electric mats or hydronic systems — surface-mounted electric heating mats are not approved. Use an in-floor temperature sensor. New concrete or gypcrete subfloors must cure for a minimum of four weeks before operating the radiant system. Damage from radiant heat exceeding spec is not covered under warranty.
What’s the Gaia Floor warranty?
50-Year Residential and 10-Year Commercial Limited warranty across all eTerra series. Prorated after the first 5 years. Coverage is for the original end-user purchaser, single-site installation only — non-transferable. Hard surface accessories (moldings, transitions) carry a separate 1-Year Residential / 90-Day Commercial warranty. Manufacturer install specifications must be followed — including the 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier over concrete subfloors — for warranty coverage to apply.
