How this tier compares to the rest of the eTerra line

If you need wider planks (9-inch versus 7.2-inch) or a thicker, more rigid core, step up to the eTerra Red Series (8mm) or Black Series (10mm). If you need a herringbone format, the Red Series carries four herringbone colors. The White Series is the right choice when you want eTerra’s waterproof build quality at the most accessible price point.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between eTerra White Series and Red Series?

The White Series uses a 6.5mm solid polymer core with 7.2-inch wide planks and a Uniclic click system. The Red Series steps up to an 8mm engineered eSPC core, 9-inch wide planks, and a Valinge 5G drop-down click. Both share the same 20-mil wear layer, IXPE underlayment, FloorScore and GreenGuard certifications, and 50-year residential warranty.

Is the White Series waterproof in bathrooms and laundry rooms?

Yes. The solid polymer core is 100% waterproof and includes an integrated moisture barrier. White Series flooring is approved for installation in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements. Concrete subfloors require a 6-mil polyethylene moisture barrier underneath; that barrier is required for the warranty to apply.

Can I install eTerra White over radiant heat?

Yes, with limits. The maximum permitted floor surface temperature is 80°F (26.67°C). Electric heating mats must be embedded in the subfloor — surface-mounted electric mats are not approved. Use an in-floor temperature sensor, and allow new concrete or gypcrete subfloors to cure for at least four weeks before turning on the heat.

How much extra material should I order?

Gaia recommends ordering 5% over your measured square footage as back stock and replacement planks. For projects with diagonal layouts, irregular rooms, or many cuts, plan on 8–10%.

Do I need to acclimate the planks before installation?

Gaia does not require an acclimation period beyond ensuring the room is between 60–80°F with 35–55% relative humidity for 48 hours before, during, and after installation. Lay the boxes flat in the installation environment during this window. Do not store boxes upright or in environments that deviate more than 25°F or 20% RH from the final install conditions.
