Where is Boen flooring made?

Boen is manufactured in Norway by the Bauwerk Group. It’s a genuine European engineered hardwood, built to the European parquet standards EN13489 and EN14342.

Is Boen engineered hardwood waterproof?

No engineered hardwood is truly waterproof, and Boen is no exception — it’s water-resistant. The engineered core handles normal humidity swings better than solid wood, but spills should be wiped up promptly and it isn’t rated for wet rooms.

Can Boen flooring go over radiant floor heating?

Yes, Boen is approved for underfloor heating up to 60 W/m², with a maximum surface temperature of 27–29°C. Note that Maple is one of the species Boen flags as more sensitive to underfloor heating, so confirm the manufacturer’s guidance for your specific color before installing over radiant.

Can I install Boen flooring myself?

It depends on the collection. Live Matte Plank 5-7/16 uses a true 5G® Click floating system with no glue on the profiles, which is the most DIY-friendly. The T&G collections (Chaletino, Live Pure Plank, Norwegian Heritage, Prestige) are glue-down or floating-with-glued-joints, which most owners hire a professional installer for. The room must be heated and dry before installation (30–60% RH, minimum 59°F), and the flooring should acclimate in the room for 48 hours first.

Can I get a Boen sample before I order?

Yes — visit our Santa Clara showroom to see a physical sample under real light before committing. Because these are real-wood veneers, color and grain vary slightly from what any photo can show.
