Live Matte Plank 5-7/16 — 9/16″ Engineered Oak (Boen Hardwood Flooring)

Live Matte Plank 5-7/16 is the only collection in Boen’s Kapriz lineup built on a true 5G® Click floating system — a 5-7/16″ plank with a 3.5mm real oak or Canadian maple veneer over a 3-layer engineered core, sealed under a low-sheen Live Matt finish. Five colors run from pale beige through medium brown. Backed by a 25-Year Residential Warranty and FSC, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and eco-INSTITUT certification, it’s available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Live Matte Plank 5-7/16

The five colors span light beige and blonde tones at the pale end through a honey/golden middle and into medium brown, including the collection’s one Canadian maple option alongside the oak colors. It’s a compact but genuinely varied range rather than several near-duplicates of the same tone.

Best uses for Live Matte Plank 5-7/16

  • DIY-leaning installs — the 5G® Click floating system requires no glue on the profiles, the most installer-friendly method in the Boen line.
  • Rooms wanting a lower-sheen finish — the Live Matt finish reads quieter than a lacquered sheen, useful where you don’t want the floor catching light.
  • Rentals or projects wanting a reversible install — a floating click floor is generally easier to remove and relay than a glue-down.
  • Rooms with underfloor radiant heat — approved for radiant use per Boen’s install requirements; note the Canadian maple color is one of the species Boen flags as more sensitive to underfloor heating, so confirm before installing that specific option over radiant.

Choosing a color from the Live Matte Plank 5-7/16

The low-sheen Live Matt finish reads slightly softer than a glossier lacquer, so a color that looks bright under a showroom light can read a touch quieter once it’s installed. Frequently asked questions about the Live Matte Plank 5-7/16

Is Live Matte Plank 5-7/16 waterproof?
No — it’s water-resistant, not waterproof, like every real-wood engineered floor. Standing water should still be wiped up promptly.
Can I install this myself?
Yes, more so than most Boen collections — the 5G® Click system floats and locks with no glue needed on the profiles. Boen still recommends at least their Maxima impact-sound-insulation underlayment underneath. Acclimate the flooring for 48 hours and confirm the room is heated and dry first (30–60% RH, minimum 59°F).
What underlayment do I need?
For the floating installation, Boen recommends at least their Maxima impact-sound-insulation underlayment beneath the click floor.
How many cartons cover my room?
Each carton covers 32.7 sq ft. Our showroom team can help you work out the right order quantity for your room, with a reasonable waste allowance.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes — our Santa Clara showroom carries physical samples so you can see the Live Matt finish and real grain under your own lighting.
