Live Pure Plank 5-7/16 — 9/16″ Engineered Oak (Boen Hardwood Flooring)

Live Pure Plank 5-7/16 is a narrower Live Pure format at 5-1/2″ wide, with a 3.5mm real oak veneer over a 3-layer engineered core. Three colors include the collection’s smoked-oak option alongside its lighter blonde and medium-brown colors, most sealed under Live Pure lacquer. Tongue & Groove construction supports floating with glued joints, glue-down, or nail-down. Backed by a 25-Year Residential Warranty and FSC, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and eco-INSTITUT certification, it’s available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Live Pure Plank 5-7/16

This compact collection covers a real spread despite having only three colors: a lighter blonde option at one end, a medium-beige middle color, and a deeper, smoked-oak medium brown that reads noticeably richer than the other two. It suits a buyer choosing between a clearly light or clearly warmer-toned floor rather than shopping within one narrow shade.

Best uses for Live Pure Plank 5-7/16

  • Traditional-width rooms — the 5-1/2″ plank reads more classic than Boen’s wider Chaletino or Live Pure Plank 8-1/4 formats.
  • Rooms wanting a warmer, richer tone — the smoked-oak color offers real depth without going as dark as Norwegian Heritage’s Oak Brazilian Brown.
  • Rooms with underfloor radiant heat — approved for radiant use per Boen’s install requirements.
  • Flexible installation projects — floating, glue-down, or nail-down all work over this T&G construction.

Choosing a color from the Live Pure Plank 5-7/16

The blonde and medium-beige colors keep a room feeling open under limited daylight, while the smoked-oak color brings noticeably more warmth and depth to a space with plenty of natural light to carry it. See a physical sample at our Santa Clara showroom under your own light before ordering — a real-wood floor this varied in tone benefits from seeing it in person.

Frequently asked questions about the Live Pure Plank 5-7/16

Is Live Pure Plank 5-7/16 waterproof?
No — it’s water-resistant, not waterproof, like every real-wood engineered floor in the Boen line.
Can I install this myself?
A floating install with glued T&G joints is more accessible than glue-down or nail-down, though most owners still hire a professional. Acclimate the flooring for 48 hours and confirm the room is heated and dry (30–60% RH, minimum 59°F) first.
What subfloor does this need?
Approved wood-based subfloors are 22mm chipboard, 19mm plywood, or 21mm floorboards, dry and level with under 12% moisture. Over concrete, the slab needs under 90% RH (or under 2% CM) and a 0.20mm polyethylene vapor barrier with at least 30cm overlap at the joints.
How many cartons cover my room?
Each carton covers 32.9 sq ft. Our showroom team can help you work out the right order quantity for your room.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes — our Santa Clara showroom carries physical samples so you can compare the blonde, beige, and smoked-oak colors under your own lighting.
