Live Pure Plank 8-1/4 — 9/16″ Engineered Oak (Boen Hardwood Flooring)

Live Pure Plank 8-1/4 is Boen’s mid-size format: an 8-1/4″ plank with a 3.5mm real oak veneer over a 3-layer engineered core, most often sealed under Live Pure lacquer. It’s the largest collection in the Boen line by color count — 11 colors spanning pale beige through medium brown, including grade variety within several color names. Tongue & Groove construction supports floating with glued joints, glue-down, or nail-down installation. Backed by a 25-Year Residential Warranty and FSC, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and eco-INSTITUT certification, it’s available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Live Pure Plank 8-1/4

This is the broadest color range in the Boen line — light beige and warm-neutral options anchor the pale end, several honey/golden and blonde tones sit in the middle, and a handful of medium-brown colors carry more depth. A few color names repeat with different grade or width variants, so two boards sharing a name can still read differently in real character.

Best uses for Live Pure Plank 8-1/4

  • Whole-home installs — the widest color selection in the Boen line makes it easier to match adjoining rooms or a multi-room project.
  • Rooms with underfloor radiant heat — approved for radiant use per Boen’s install requirements.
  • Flexible installation projects — floating, glue-down, or nail-down all work over this T&G construction, so the method can match the subfloor you already have.
  • Buyers who want grade or tone options within one look — several colors here come in more than one grade, letting you dial in more or less knot character within the same shade.

Choosing a color from the Live Pure Plank 8-1/4

With this many colors, start by narrowing to a family — light beige, blonde, honey/golden, or medium brown — based on how bright or grounded you want the room to feel, then compare specific options within that family in person. Since these are real oak veneers, a sample seen at our Santa Clara showroom under your own lighting will show the true grain and color far better than a screen.

Frequently asked questions about the Live Pure Plank 8-1/4

Is Live Pure Plank 8-1/4 waterproof?
No — it’s water-resistant, not waterproof. The engineered core handles normal humidity swings better than solid wood, but standing water can still damage the wood veneer over time.
Can I install this myself?
It depends on the method: a floating install with glued T&G joints is more DIY-accessible than glue-down or nail-down, though most owners still hire a professional. Acclimate the flooring on-site for 48 hours first, and confirm the room is heated and dry (30–60% RH, minimum 59°F) before starting.
What subfloor does this need?
Approved wood-based subfloors are 22mm chipboard, 19mm plywood, or 21mm floorboards, dry and level with moisture content under 12%. Over concrete, the slab must show under 90% RH (or under 2% CM) and needs a 0.20mm polyethylene vapor barrier with at least 30cm overlap at the joints.
How many cartons cover my room?
Each carton covers 29.7 sq ft. Bring your room dimensions to our Santa Clara showroom and our team can help you work out the right order quantity with a reasonable waste allowance.
Can I get a sample before I order?
Yes — our Santa Clara showroom carries physical samples so you can see the real wood grain and color under your own light.
