Quick Answer

What is Coyote Brush?

Coyote Brush is a wood-look SPC floor built around a cool deep greige-brown color, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Coyote Brush suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The surface is topped by a 20 mil wear layer — that's approximately 0.51 mm — intended for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

At 20 mil, Coyote Brush's wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 6mm construction gives it a solid, stable feel underfoot in busy rooms.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Coyote Brush surface shows open cathedral grain packed with dense swirling figure and tight compact ovals, so no stretch of plank repeats the one beside it. Small knots and short fissures punctuate the pattern, with fine hairline checking and dark mineral streaks threading through the printed surface. It is a busy, characterful grain that hides everyday scuffs and foot traffic well.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm Bio Guard anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Coyote Brush is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Coyote Brush works best in rooms with bold, saturated color, and it earns its place under low light rather than bright sun. With only cool ambient overhead lighting and no window sun, the taupe-brown deepens and its underlying warmth comes forward, steadying the cool cast instead of turning flat or muddy. That makes it a natural match for evening-lit spaces and jewel-tone walls, where a paler floor would wash out.

Overview

Coyote Brush lands deeper and browner than a plain grey -- a taupe-brown carried on a cool, muted undertone that keeps it from ever tipping warm-orange. Open cathedral grain runs through each plank in dense swirls and compact ovals, broken by small knots and dark mineral streaks that give the surface real movement. In the living room shown here Coyote Brush grounds a modern glam scheme of navy and copper, adding weight underfoot without stealing the room's drama.

A deep taupe-brown with enough presence to carry a dark, dramatic room on its own.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
Installed, Coyote Brush sits under a modern glam living room built around a navy tufted sofa and pale blue side tables, lit by copper pendants against a painted navy accent wall. The deep taupe-brown floor keeps that cool navy and powder-blue palette from feeling icy, while a bright white pillow and the copper glow warm up the contrast. It reads as a dressy, evening-leaning space where the floor stays a grounded backdrop for the jewel tones above it.
Will it match my cabinets?
Yes -- Coyote Brush pairs cleanly with white and off-white millwork, the way the pictured room sets it against crisp white wainscoting. The deep taupe-brown gives white trim a warm, defined edge and is dark enough to keep light cabinetry from looking stark. For a tone-on-tone look, mid-grey or greige cabinets sit comfortably with it as well.
How does this color read in a windowless basement?
With no natural window light in the pictured room, Coyote Brush shows how it behaves in dim and windowless spaces: under cool overhead lighting the deep taupe-brown holds its depth and does not gray out. That makes it a solid pick for basements and interior rooms, where a darker floor can feel intentional rather than accidental. Add warm-toned lamps or fixtures if you want to pull more of its brown warmth forward.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
The room uses greenery sparingly -- a single statement plant and a few small pots -- and Coyote Brush gives that green a rich, grounded base to sit against. The deep taupe-brown reads as a natural backdrop, so foliage and terracotta or brass planters stand out cleanly without competing with the floor.
