Quick Answer

What is San Marino Elm?

San Marino Elm is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor in a medium brown shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming San Marino Elm when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.50 mm — recommended for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It sits at the thicker, harder-wearing end of the range.

Will it hold up to daily life?

San Marino Elm has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the roughly 12-mil mid-tier and 6-mil entry-level LVT wear layers. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each San Marino Elm plank shows soft flowing arches and fine mineral flecks over a calm, even grain, with a single faint knot as the only real character mark. The floor is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions, which matters in a living room where people spend hours, and its structural integrity and pet-proof performance are warranted for the lifetime of ownership, reassuring with kids and animals on a wide-plank floor. The look stays clean and contemporary rather than rustic.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The cork acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. San Marino Elm is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — San Marino Elm carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

A bronze-leaning medium brown like San Marino Elm is a designer's easy canvas: calm enough to sit under bold, layered decor, warm enough that the room never feels cold. The golden-bronze undertone picks up warm metals, olive, and blush and other muted tones without competing with them. If you like to change throw pillows and art often, this quiet warm brown takes whatever palette you put over it.

Overview

San Marino Elm is a warm medium brown with an earthy golden-bronze undertone (hex #907357), a quiet shade with a faint metallic warmth to it. The grain is calm and flowing, with soft arches and only a single faint knot, so the wide planks read clean and uncluttered. We photographed it in a modern-eclectic living room, a black leather sofa, muted olive walls, and blush and olive accents layered over the floor, the sort of curated, slightly moody space it suits, where a calm floor lets busy decor take the lead. Wide planks on a fully waterproof stone-polymer core make it a practical base for a real, lived-in room.

A calm bronze-brown wide-plank floor: a quiet, low-knot canvas for layered decor, GREENGUARD Gold certified for cleaner indoor air.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the living room we photographed, San Marino Elm ran wall to wall beneath a black leather sofa and a dark round coffee table, with muted olive walls and blush accents layered on top under soft afternoon light. The calm bronze-brown floor stayed in the background and let the curated decor stand out, exactly as a quiet floor should. Laid across a real room, the wide planks and low-knot grain read clean and even, an unfussy base for whatever furniture sits on them.
Will it match my cabinets?
San Marino Elm did not sit in a kitchen in our photo; the nearest trim was a simple white baseboard, but its warm bronze-brown is forgiving with cabinetry. It pairs cleanly with white or off-white cabinets for a soft contrast, and with deep green or charcoal for something moodier in a built-in or media wall. Steer clear of a cabinet in the same bronze-brown, where a tone-on-tone pairing can blur; a clear lighter or darker cabinet keeps the floor distinct.
How does this color read in a windowless basement?
San Marino Elm's waterproof core clears it for basement rooms, and its warm bronze undertone is well suited to spaces with little daylight. Mid-browns like this keep their warmth under lamplight, so a basement lounge or studio reads inviting instead of grey. Because the planks are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions, they are an easy choice for a closed-in lower level where fresh air moves less; pair them with warm bulbs and pale walls.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
San Marino Elm makes a calm stage for indoor plants; the bronze-brown lets green foliage and a blush bloom or two read clearly, much like the styled vase in our photo. The waterproof surface takes a watering splash in stride, but set planters on a non-staining saucer rather than a rubber- or latex-backed mat, since that backing can discolor the floor. Wipe up any overflow and the surface stays even and clean.
