Quick Answer

What is Chaumont?

Chaumont is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor in a gentle golden-beige tan tone, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical space.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Chaumont handles pet accidents, water-bowl spills, and tracked-in mud wiped up promptly without swelling. Clean up standing water quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — equivalent to 0.50 mm — intended for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. Noticeably thicker than the everyday layers below it.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Chaumont's 20 mil wear layer and finish resist scratching and scuffing over years of use. It wipes clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner and a damp mop, and keeps the printed grain reading consistent across the floor.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each Chaumont plank shows a tight straight grain with subtle lengthwise lines and mild figure shifts from one board to the next. Soft even striping runs the length of the boards, and there are no knots, so the surface stays quiet and uniform. Because the grain is a wood-look print, that clean pattern repeats reliably plank to plank.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

There's no separate underlayment to buy and no pad to choose. Chaumont's factory-attached 1.5mm IXPE anti-microbial acoustic pad comes bonded to every plank and dampens footfall noise throughout the home — one less material decision and one less install step.

Will this color work in my room?

Chaumont reads best where daylight can reach it. Under the bright daylight pouring through the bay window in this kitchen, the golden tan lifts and warms, staying cheerful against white cabinetry. In a shadier corner or a north-facing room the same tan drops a shade and reads a touch deeper and cozier. Chaumont pairs easily with white and cream cabinets, soft blues, and warm metal hardware.

Overview

Chaumont is a light warm tan with gentle golden beige undertones, bright and welcoming without turning yellow. Its tight straight grain runs quietly down the wide plank, with mild board-to-board figure shifts and soft even striping that keep the surface looking natural and knot-free. We photographed Chaumont in a modern farmhouse kitchen, where the tan boards run beneath a white island and blue upholstered stools, with a bowl of fruit and a little potted greenery by the bay window. This is a wood-look print over a stone-polymer core, so Chaumont shrugs off dropped pans, foot traffic, and the odd spill and wipes clean afterward. It suits busy kitchens and open-concept cooking-and-dining spaces where you want warmth underfoot and an easy clean.

A bright tan kitchen floor that takes the traffic and wipes up in a pass.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the installed photo, Chaumont runs through a modern farmhouse kitchen lit by bright daylight from a bay window. The warm tan boards sit beneath a white shaker island ringed with navy-blue upholstered stools, with white subway tile behind and a bowl of fruit and a small potted plant on the counter. The lighter floor keeps the white-and-blue scheme feeling open and grounded in warmth rather than stark. It is the kind of hardworking kitchen floor that looks tidy even on a busy morning.
Will it match my cabinets?
Chaumont is an easy match for kitchen cabinetry. Against the white shaker cabinets in this room the warm tan floor gives a soft, friendly contrast rather than a hard line. It also works under cream, sage, or navy cabinets, and with warm wood-tone cabinets as long as you keep a shade of separation so the floor and the cabinet faces do not blur into one another.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a windowless kitchenette or a lower-level prep space, Chaumont reads a little deeper and warmer than it does under the bay window, since there is no daylight to lift the golden side. Warm LED bulbs keep it looking tan and inviting; very cool bulbs can pull it toward flat beige, so lean warm on the lighting below grade.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Yes. The warm golden tan of Chaumont makes a friendly backdrop for kitchen greenery, and a pot of herbs or a leafy plant reads crisply against it. Because the grain is quiet and knot-free, planters and trailing leaves stand out cleanly instead of fighting a busy floor.
