Quick Answer

What is Martigues?

Martigues is a wood-look SPC floor built around a warm grey color, with a thick, heavy-wear surface for a low-maintenance, practical space.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The stone-polymer core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

This floor has a 30 mil wear layer — equal to about 0.76 mm — a good match for heavy residential use and many commercial applications, so you get exceptional protection against scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear. The extra thickness gives it more long-term wear capacity than thinner layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Martigues stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 30 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each Martigues plank shows a cathedral figure rising through the center, framed by straighter grain along the edges, with a scattering of small knots and short fissures. Across a full floor those knots and arches give a moderate, even sprinkle of character rather than heavy rustic markings. Because the grain is a wood-look print, that balanced figure stays sharp and consistent plank to plank.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 2mm IXPE anti-microbial acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Martigues is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Because Martigues is a warm-leaning grey, it reads soft and approachable rather than cold. In the soft midday daylight of the room we shot it looks light and even, the greige warmth keeping it friendly; in a lower-light or north-facing room it deepens a little and the grey comes forward. Either way it stays a comfortable middle grey that pairs as easily with dark formal furniture as with lighter, softer schemes.

Overview

Martigues is a soft warm grey with only a faint greige undertone: grey first, but with enough warmth to stay welcoming rather than steely. On these wide boards the grain rises in a cathedral figure through the plank centers, dotted with scattered small knots and short fissures, so there is gentle character without the floor turning rustic. We photographed Martigues in a refined transitional living room with a charcoal sofa, espresso cabinetry, patterned pillows, and a brass chandelier overhead. The soft floor ties those darker, formal pieces together and keeps the space feeling calm and put-together. Martigues is a wood-look floor, so the cathedral figure and knots are printed cleanly across every plank. It suits transitional and traditional living rooms that want a grey with a little grain personality.

A soft warm grey with cathedral grain and scattered knots, neutral but never without personality underfoot.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In our photo, Martigues runs through a refined transitional living room under a charcoal sofa and coffee table, with an espresso console cabinet, patterned pillows, framed art, and a brass chandelier as the centerpiece. The warm grey floor keeps all those darker, traditional pieces from feeling heavy, giving the room a light, even base against soft blue-grey walls. Its wide boards and gentle cathedral figure make a formal living room feel roomy and unhurried from wall to wall.
Will it match my cabinets?
Martigues is a warm mid-grey, so it takes a wide range of cabinets. Espresso and other dark wood-tone cabinetry, like the pieces in our photo, read rich against the lighter floor without any clash. White or greige-painted cabinets keep things soft and tonal, while black or deep navy adds crisp contrast. Because the grey carries warmth, even honey and caramel wood-tones sit comfortably beside it.
How does this color read in a windowless basement?
Taken into a basement or a room with little daylight, Martigues reads a touch deeper and greyer than it does under the bright windows in our photo, but the greige warmth keeps it from going cold or flat. A warm-leaning grey like this is a safe pick below grade because it keeps a little color instead of turning to concrete. Warm-white bulbs will bring its friendlier side back out.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Martigues and houseplants get along nicely. A warm grey floor gives leafy greens a soft, neutral stage, and since the surface is a wood-look print, a splash from watering wipes away without a mark. Slip a felt pad or a non-staining saucer under bigger planters so grit and moisture stay off the finish.
