Quick Answer
What is Lille?
Lille is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor in a medium grey shade, with a heavy residential, light-commercial-ready wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical space.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. The stone-polymer core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.50 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. A common step-up point where the extra thickness starts to matter.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Minor scratches on Lille stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.
What does the plank surface look like?
Each Lille plank shows an open cathedral grain with pronounced depth and bold swirling figure. Deep grain lines and strong cathedral swirls travel across the boards, joined by an occasional dark knot and marked figure variation from plank to plank. Streaks of paler grey break up the mid grey, so an installed floor shows plenty of natural movement rather than a flat, uniform tone.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The 1.5mm IXPE anti-microbial acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Lille is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
Will this color work in my room?
As a medium grey, Lille reads best where there is enough light to show its grain and its warm brown undertones. In a bright, well-lit room the grey opens up and the brown wash comes forward, while in a dim space it reads a touch deeper. Because it is a versatile medium grey, Lille pairs cleanly with white or pale walls, light furniture, and metal or glass accents that keep a room from feeling heavy.

Overview
Lille is a medium grey washed with warm brown, a calm floor that leans cool without turning cold or heavy. Its open cathedral grain runs with real depth: bold swirling figure, pronounced grain lines, and the occasional dark knot that varies markedly from one board to the next. Passages of paler grey lighten the mix, so the surface keeps its movement instead of reading as one solid tone. The wood-look print sits over a stone-polymer core, so Lille takes daily foot traffic and cleans up with a damp mop. As a versatile medium grey, Lille suits modern living rooms, entryways, and studies where you want a calm, neutral base under lighter walls and furniture.
A medium grey plank with a warm undercurrent and grain you can genuinely see.

Frequently asked questions
How do I estimate how much flooring I need?
Pro tip: we strongly recommend hiring a licensed flooring contractor to measure before ordering, especially for larger jobs. They'll account for transitions, stairs, closets, and pattern waste that homeowners often miss. Under-ordering means stopping mid-install to wait for another box — and batch matching isn't guaranteed.
Do you offer samples I can take home?
What's your return policy?
Always covered at no cost: manufacturing defects, wrong product shipped, delivery damage documented on receipt before the driver leaves.
Why returns aren't default: sending a pallet back involves 6 handoffs and $300–800 freight — Kapriz carries the exposure if rejected.
Rare exceptions: 25% restocking fee + customer pays freight. Never for opened cartons, custom orders, or discontinued runs.
Pro tip: see Lille in person before ordering — call (408) 753-3220 to confirm showroom availability (samples rotate) or arrange a loan.
