Prime Collection — 3/4″ & 5/8″ Engineered European Oak (Vellichor Floors)

Prime is the flagship and broadest line in the Vellichor Floors range — ten warm, blonde-forward colors built on a genuine 4mm real-wood veneer bonded to a cross-layered engineered core for dimensional stability. The line mixes 3/4″ and 5/8″ thickness and offers three plank formats, from a 7.5″-wide board up to a wide 10.25″ plank, all finished with a clear UV lacquer and a wire-brushed surface and joined by a Tongue & Groove profile. Most colors are European Oak, with No.4 in French Oak and Prime VII and Prime VIII in Oak. Prime is water-resistant (not waterproof), carries FloorScore, GREENGUARD Gold and FSC among its certifications, and is backed by a Limited Lifetime Structural warranty. Colors in the Prime Collection

The ten Prime colors — Aqua White, No.4, and Prime I through Prime VIII — sit firmly on the warm, light end of the oak spectrum. Six read as clear blonde, three as light beige, and one as a slightly deeper medium beige, so the whole line leans bright and airy rather than dark or grey. Aqua White is the palest, most whitewashed option; the numbered Prime tones step gently through soft honey and beige without ever going into brown. These lighter floors open up a room and pair naturally with white and light-wood cabinetry, while the wire-brushed surface adds subtle texture and grain movement across every color.

Choosing a color from the Prime Collection

Because Prime runs blonde-to-light-beige, the choice is mostly about warmth and how much your room light shifts it: the palest tones like Aqua White brighten north-facing or smaller rooms, while the light and medium beiges add a touch more warmth against white or pale cabinetry. Lighter floors hide dust and show less contrast underfoot but reveal fine scratches more than a busy dark floor would. Plank width also changes the feel — the wide 10.25″ board looks more open and modern than the 7.5″. Frequently asked questions about the Prime Collection

Is Prime waterproof enough for a bathroom?
No. Prime is water-resistant, not waterproof. It handles everyday spills in kitchens and living areas when wiped up promptly, but full baths, wet rooms and other standing-water areas are not recommended for any real-wood engineered floor.
Can Prime go over radiant heat or below grade?
Yes to below grade — the cross-layered engineered core is rated for above, on, or below grade installation, unlike solid wood. For radiant heat, confirm the exact color and format with us first and follow the manufacturer’s temperature guidance so the floor stays within its rated range.
Can I install Prime myself?
Prime can be nailed, glued, or floated, which gives you flexibility over most subfloors. The Tongue & Groove profile and glue/nail methods reward careful prep and experience, so a wide-plank floor like the 10.25″ format is usually best left to a professional installer for a flat, gap-free result.
How many cartons do I need?
Carton coverage in Prime varies by plank size — 23.31, 28.42, or 30.78 sq ft per carton depending on the format — so check the exact box for the color you choose rather than assuming a single figure. Measure your room’s square footage, add roughly 10% for cuts and waste, then divide by that carton’s coverage. We can confirm the right count with you.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
Yes. Because the ten Prime colors are all warm and light, small differences matter, and screens never match real oak. View or take home a sample from our Santa Clara showroom and look at it under your own daylight and evening lighting before you order.
