What is Prime VIII?
Prime VIII is a genuine engineered hardwood floor built around a warm blonde color, with a smooth, premium grain and very few knots for a refined, understated look.
Is it waterproof?
Prime VIII is real wood, so the honest answer is water-resistant rather than waterproof. Its construction shrugs off normal seasonal humidity far better than solid planks, but standing water left to sit can still damage the wood veneer.
Can it be refinished?
Two different things: the finish can be refreshed with a light recoat no matter how much veneer is left, while a full sanding is limited by the real wood on top. With a 4mm veneer, this floor can usually take two or three professional refinishes.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close, the draw is the figure: tall cathedral arches sweeping to a peak near the top of each board, with long grain lines flowing beneath them. A rounded small knot sits low on the plank, and mild shifts in figure move from board to board, so the honeyed field always has something to look at. The wire-brushed texture deepens the arches, giving the grain a tactile, hand-finished feel.
Will this color work in my room?
Prime VIII was shot in soft, even light with little direct sun, and it takes that gentle lighting well — the honeyed-sand warmth fills in where a cooler floor would look grey and flat. In brighter rooms the gold lifts and the cathedral figure catches more light; in softer or shaded spaces it reads warm and cocooning. It pairs naturally with soft brown, cream, and off-white, and it welcomes plenty of texture.
