What is Shasta?

Shasta is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor built around a pale cream-washed color, with a heavy residential, light-commercial-ready wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The stone-polymer core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The flooring uses a 20 mil wear layer — which works out to 0.50 mm — made for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It sits at the thicker, harder-wearing end of the range.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Shasta stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each Shasta plank shows a flowing cathedral grain with long arching figure and fine mineral streaking running with the grain, plus only sparse pin marks. The streaks give a washed, light look without heavy knots. The printed surface is protected by a 20 mil wear layer, and a 1.5mm IXPE acoustic underlayment is attached to every plank to keep a bedroom floor quiet underfoot.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm IXPE acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Shasta is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Shasta carries FloorScore, GREENGUARD Gold, CARB Phase 2, Zero Formaldehyde, EPA TSCA Title VI, Lacey Act, FSC certifications, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.
