Is it waterproof?
No — don't count on engineered wood as a waterproof floor. It's a more moisture-stable choice than solid hardwood and works over concrete or below grade, but the wood surface means water-resistant is the accurate description, not waterproof.
Can it be refinished?
Two different things: the finish can be refreshed with a light recoat no matter how much veneer is left, while a full sanding is limited by the real wood on top. With a 4mm veneer, this floor can usually take two or three professional refinishes.
What does the plank surface look like?
The plank surface is where Seasmoke shows its personality: broad, sweeping grain running the length of the board, fine mineral flecks catching the light, and a cluster of small dark-centered knots gathered low on one plank. It is more characterful than a plain blonde, and the wire-brushed texture works across the sweeping figure so the pale grain never looks flat.
