What is Piraeus?

Piraeus is a waterproof, wood-look WPC floor in a medium brown tone, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Piraeus suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The surface of Piraeus is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — measuring about 0.51 mm — ideal for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

At 20 mil, Piraeus' wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 7mm construction gives it a solid, stable feel underfoot in busy rooms.

What does the plank surface look like?

The Piraeus plank is all long, straight grain streaks with an occasional swirl, sparse small knots, and faint character marks. The lengthwise figure keeps the surface calm and directional, giving a floor that feels tailored and quietly upscale up close.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1mm IXPE acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Piraeus is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Piraeus carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Piraeus reads warm and refined, and under the warm recessed lighting of the photographed lounge the caramel depth deepens into something almost lamplit at evening. In brighter daylight the brown lightens and the grain shows more clearly, so the color shifts with the hour. It looks especially strong against dark wood-tone surfaces and cream.
