Quick Answer
What is Montane?
Montane is a wood-look SPC floor built around a soft cool greige color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Montane suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The surface of Montane is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — that's approximately 0.51 mm — ideal for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.
Will it hold up to daily life?
At 20 mil, Montane's wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 6.5mm construction gives it a solid, stable feel underfoot in busy rooms.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close the surface is where Montane earns its name: straight grain lines run the length of each board, then open into pronounced cathedral swirls near the center. Medium dark knots and inky mineral streaks punctuate the pale greige at a moderate spacing, drawing a sharp, high-contrast figure rather than a quiet wash. The variation is strong plank to plank, so a laid floor of Montane looks assembled from distinct boards, not a repeating print.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Montane is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
Will this color work in my room?
In a bright, window-lit space Montane lifts toward a clean, pale greige and the cool weathered cast comes forward. In softer or low light it reads a touch deeper and warmer, the grey easing back so the floor never feels cold. Because Montane stays balanced between cool and warm, it works against crisp whites and blacks as easily as it does beside charcoal, greige, or wood-tone furniture.

Overview
Montane reads as a cool-leaning greige with a weathered, softly muted cast, kept from turning stark by a thin thread of underlying warmth. What sets it apart is the contrast: long straight grain lines open into pronounced cathedral swirls, and dark knots with inky mineral streaks cut across the pale field so one length rarely echoes the next. It arrives as a wide rigid plank that stands up to busy traffic, everyday spills, and pet claws. That high-contrast, contemporary greige suits modern living rooms, kitchens, entryways, and home offices where you want real movement and definition underfoot.
A weathered, cool greige with dark knots and inky streaks that give every board its own character.
