Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Powder-room splashes, daily wet feet, and towel drops wipe up without harm when cleaned promptly. Indoor use only — not for installation inside showers or wet rooms, and outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The construction includes a 20 mil wear layer — equivalent to 0.50 mm — built for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, providing excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a common step-up in wear-layer thickness, where the extra protection starts to matter.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Kitchen stress test: dropped cutlery, pans slid from oven to counter, refrigerator casters, and dishwasher spray — Galveston Oak's 20 mil wear layer and finish handle the spills, dropped pots, and dragged stools of daily kitchen use, and wipe clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner.

What does the plank surface look like?

The 7-inch planks have a weathered straight grain with mottled weathering, fine cross-sawn striations, vertical splits, and sparse small knots, so no two boards look alike. That busy, rustic figure is practical as well as good-looking: it hides the dust and scuffs a high-traffic floor collects between cleanings. A 20-mil commercial-grade wear layer covers the printed wood-look surface.
