Quick Answer
What is Northwoods Oak?
Northwoods Oak is a rigid, wood-look WPC floor built around a reddish mid-brown color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Northwoods Oak when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The construction includes a 20 mil wear layer — approximately 0.51 mm — a good match for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, so you get excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It sits at the thicker, harder-wearing end of the range.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Northwoods Oak has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close the Northwoods Oak plank is dense with detail: wavy, feathered grain that swings into figure waves, scattered pin holes, and small worm marks spread across every board. The knotting is heavy but fine, pin-sized rather than big and open, so the surface looks busy and rustic without any single mark taking over. That density is practical too, because a printed surface this active hides crumbs, pet hair, and daily scuffs far better than a clean, uniform one would, and Northwoods Oak is backed by a lifetime residential wear warranty for exactly this kind of high-traffic floor.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Northwoods Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
Is it safe for indoor air?
Yes — Northwoods Oak carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.
Will this color work in my room?
Northwoods Oak leans on its own warmth rather than on daylight. The mudroom it was shot in has no window, just warm ambient fixtures, and that light pushes the reddish mid-brown a shade deeper while pulling the amber forward. Set against olive-green walls it reads warm and cozy rather than bright. In a room that does get daylight the same color lifts and shows more of its red, but either way Northwoods Oak stays an easygoing mid-tone that suits a space you want to feel snug.

Overview
Feathered figure waves run the length of every board in Northwoods Oak, broken up by scattered pin holes, small worm marks, and heavy pin-sized knotting that give the floor its busy, lived-in character. The color underneath that grain is a warm reddish mid-brown with a clear amber cast, medium in depth and never dark. In the mudroom where it was photographed, it spreads wall to wall under olive-green paint and a dark espresso storage bench, the kind of hardworking entry where boots, baskets, and a laundry hamper get dropped daily. Northwoods Oak reads warm and practical in that setting, a floor whose busy grain shrugs off the scuffs a family entry collects.
A warm reddish mid-brown with enough grain character to shrug off a busy family's muddiest days.
