Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The construction includes a 30 mil wear layer — roughly 0.76 mm thick — suited to heavy residential use and many commercial applications, offering exceptional protection against scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear. A notably thick, hard-wearing surface for its class.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Millau's 30 mil wear layer plus 10mm rigid SPC core manages this better than laminate — SPC resists crush-indent where laminate high-density fiberboard would dent permanently.
What does the plank surface look like?
Each Millau board shows a soft straight grain with faint, flowing lines and an extremely quiet figure, so there is very little variation from one plank to the next. Almost no knots break the surface, which is what gives Millau its even, uncluttered look across a wide floor. In the long, wide format the boards run in clean, continuous lines the length of the room.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The 2mm IXPE anti-microbial acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Millau is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
