Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Dakota Walnut suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — roughly 0.51 mm thick — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

At 20 mil, Dakota Walnut's wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 8mm construction gives it a solid, stable feel underfoot in busy rooms.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, the dakota walnut plank shows long grain lines that run mostly straight down the board, with a few low cathedral arches rising through the center and then easing back into fine, even lines toward the edges. Soft figure variation shifts the pattern from plank to plank, and faint hairline fissures add a little texture to the printed face. There are no knots anywhere on the surface, so the grain stays clean and continuous, an even and uncomplicated look rather than a rustic one.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Dakota Walnut is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
