Quick Answer

What is Citadel?

Citadel is a wood-look SPC floor in a gently muted taupe-brown shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The rigid core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Citadel comes with a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers in everyday durability.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Citadel stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 20 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern — low visibility, not just high durability.

What does the plank surface look like?

The Citadel planks read calm and linear up close, with fine straight grain lines and a quiet feathered figure running board to board. Scattered pin knots and subtle plank-to-plank variation give the printed surface just enough movement to look natural underfoot.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Citadel is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Citadel carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Under the lobby's warm recessed downlight, Citadel glows a soft sandy taupe and its brown undertone reads richer in the low, even glow. By a window or in brighter daylight it lightens and cools slightly. That warmth is what lets it stand up to hard materials like brick and glass without feeling stark.

Overview

Citadel leans a touch warmer and sandier than a plain grey-brown, a muted taupe-brown that keeps its warmth without turning orange. Its gentle cathedral grain and fine feathered figure stay understated, with only scattered pin knots across the boards. In the photographed lobby Citadel stretches beneath sculptural white lounge seating against a wall of exposed brick, where the sandy tone picks up the brick's warmth. The wood-look surface is printed over a rigid, 100% waterproof core built to take heavy foot traffic.

A warm, sandy taupe-brown that softens an industrial space without losing its edge.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed lobby Citadel is laid in a contemporary industrial setting, with sculptural white lounge seating and low ottomans over the floor and exposed brick climbing the wall behind. Layered white ceiling fins and a curved reception desk keep the space bright, while the sandy taupe-brown floor adds a little warmth to all the white and brick. It is a look that suits a lobby, studio, or open commercial space.
Will it match my cabinets?
Citadel pairs cleanly with white millwork and cabinetry, as the lobby's reception desk shows. Its sandy undertone also flatters warmer whites and natural materials, so it works with a cream or off-white kitchen as easily as a stark one.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
Because Citadel holds real warmth, it stays inviting in a windowless or low-light room instead of reading grey and cold. Bright daylight lifts it lighter and sandier. For a basement, warm-toned lighting will bring out the best of its taupe-brown.
