Quick Answer

What is Cedar?

Cedar is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor built around a warm honey-beige color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — approximately 0.51 mm — designed for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Cedar's 20 mil wear layer over a rigid SPC core manages this better than laminate — SPC resists crushing and indentation, while a laminate's high-density fiberboard core is more prone to permanent denting.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Cedar plank shows a tight, mostly straight grain broken by open cathedral figure and a few gentle sweeps toward the board ends. Small, sparse knots and soft mineral streaking mark the face here and there, adding just enough character to read as real planking without any busyness. Each board differs a little from the next, so a full floor looks natural rather than repeated.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm IXPE acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Cedar is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Cedar carries FloorScore and GREENGUARD certifications, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

In the soft morning daylight of a bedroom, Cedar warms to a gentle honey and its tan undertone comes forward, reading clean and restful rather than brassy. Because that light is even and diffuse, the color stays consistent through the day instead of shifting or washing out. It suits a warm, pared-back palette of creams, soft whites, and muted earth tones, and gives cooler accents like slate or sage something warm to sit beside.

Overview

A tight, mostly straight grain runs the length of each Cedar plank, opening into occasional cathedral arches and a scatter of small knots that keep the surface from reading flat. The honey-beige face has a light tan undertone, warm enough to feel inviting without tipping into yellow. Fine mineral streaking and modest variation from one board to the next give the run a natural, unforced rhythm. Laid across a bedroom, Cedar reads calm and low-key, the kind of quiet floor a pared-back room is built around.

Warm honey-beige with a restful, unhurried calm underfoot.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed room, Cedar runs beneath an upholstered bed, a rounded nightstand, and a small vanity desk, with a wood-tone panelled wall behind the headboard. The styling is modern Scandinavian and low-key, with a herringbone throw, layered pillows, and a few dried grasses in creams and light wood-tone that echo the floor's warmth. Morning daylight fills the space, and the beige of Cedar keeps everything feeling soft, open, and unhurried.
Will it match my cabinets?
The room pairs Cedar with a wardrobe that mixes a wood-tone finish and white, and the match reads easily. The floor's honey-beige warmth suits a natural wood-tone beside it, while the white sections keep the pairing from feeling heavy. For built-ins or cabinetry, Cedar takes both warm wood-tone fronts and soft painted whites, and it stays friendly with off-white and greige trim.
How does this color read in a windowless basement?
Away from a window, in a basement or a dim hallway, Cedar deepens slightly and its tan undertone reads a touch stronger, though it stays clearly warm rather than turning drab. Under warm artificial light it keeps its honey cast, and under cooler LED it leans toward a more neutral beige. In a low-light room it helps to keep the walls light so the warmth of Cedar still comes through.
