What is Cedar?

Cedar is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor built around a warm honey-beige color, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — approximately 0.51 mm — designed for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Cedar's 20 mil wear layer over a rigid SPC core manages this better than laminate — SPC resists crushing and indentation, while a laminate's high-density fiberboard core is more prone to permanent denting.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Cedar plank shows a tight, mostly straight grain broken by open cathedral figure and a few gentle sweeps toward the board ends. Small, sparse knots and soft mineral streaking mark the face here and there, adding just enough character to read as real planking without any busyness. Each board differs a little from the next, so a full floor looks natural rather than repeated.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm IXPE acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Cedar is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Cedar carries FloorScore and GREENGUARD certifications, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.
