Colors in the Vila Do Conde

Natural is the lightest, a warm red-brown that keeps the Sapele grain visible; Caramelo also sits in the red/reddish family with more saturation; Rio Espresso, Pimenta Preta, and Ebano move progressively darker into deep-brown and near-black tones. It’s a range built around the species’ natural reddish character rather than a light-to-dark neutral gradient.

Best uses for Vila Do Conde

  • Traditional-scale rooms — 7-1/2″ planks suit bedrooms, dining rooms, and other moderately sized spaces.
  • Concrete-slab or plywood subfloors — glue-down, staple/nail-down, or floating all apply.
  • A darker, dramatic floor — Ebano and Pimenta Preta suit buyers wanting a near-black statement floor.
  • Light-commercial spaces — the 5-Year Light Commercial Finish Warranty extends coverage beyond residential use.

Choosing a color from the Vila Do Conde

Natural and Caramelo work well in rooms that already lean warm, keeping the Sapele grain visible; the three darker colors (Rio Espresso, Pimenta Preta, Ebano) hide scuffs well but show dust more readily and can make a smaller room feel more enclosed. Bring a sample home or compare it under your own lighting at our Santa Clara showroom, where we can also confirm dye lots across a full order.

Frequently asked questions about the Vila Do Conde

Is Vila Do Conde approved for radiant heat?
Amazon Wood Floors’ installation instructions state radiant-heat approval explicitly for the European Oak collections. For Vila Do Conde (Sapele/African Mahogany), confirm with Amazon Wood Floors before installing over a radiant system.
Is there a matching herringbone version?
Yes — Vila Do Conde (Herringbone) uses the same Sapele species in a 4-3/4″ × 24″ herringbone-format plank, sold as a separate collection.
Can I install it myself?
Yes — it’s tongue-and-groove and approved for glue-down, staple/nail-down, or floating. Leave a minimum 1/2″ expansion gap around the perimeter and work from several cartons at once for shade blending.
What’s the warranty?
A 25-Year Residential Finish Warranty, 5-Year Light Commercial Finish Warranty, and Lifetime Structural Warranty.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes — Vila Do Conde is available to order through our Santa Clara showroom, where you can compare colors in person and we can help confirm dye lots for a full-room order.
