Second, underfoot density — thicker SPC feels closer to engineered hardwood when you walk on it, less hollow than thinner LVT or laminate. The waterproof performance, wear-layer thickness, and certifications are identical to Galaxy and Gemstone; what you’re paying for is rigidity and the herringbone option, not waterproof performance.

How is the Shasta Herringbone variant different from standard Summit planks?

Shasta Herringbone (VC-709H) is the only herringbone variant in the entire Vellichor line. Mechanically it shares the same VibranCore SPC core, the same 20-mil wear layer, the same 1.5mm IXPE pad, and the same Lifetime Residential warranty as the standard Summit planks.
