Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — roughly 0.50 mm thick — built for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Torbert's 20 mil wear layer plus 8.5mm rigid SPC core manages this better than laminate — SPC resists crush-indent where laminate high-density fiberboard would dent permanently.

What does the plank surface look like?

Each Torbert plank shows a flowing cathedral grain with pronounced figure and a weathered, reclaimed look. Fine saw-mark lines run along the boards, and scattered small knots with dark centers add rustic character without crowding the surface. The variation moves from plank to plank, so a finished floor looks characterful rather than uniform. The surface is a wood-look print sealed under a 20 mil wear layer that resists the scuffs and scratches of a busy household.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm IXPE acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Torbert is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
