Misty Tree — 5.5mm SPC Vinyl Plank (Republic Floor)

The Misty Tree Series is a 5.5mm SPC vinyl plank collection from Republic Floor, built as a rigid SPC line for busy, water-prone rooms. Each plank pairs a Stone Polymer Core with a 20 mil wear layer and a pre-attached acoustic EVA underlayment, locking together with an angle-drop click-lock system that needs no separate pad. Planks run 9″ x 72″ — a notably long format for this category — for fewer seams and a more continuous, dramatic long-plank look across a room. Six colors span grey, light brown, and beige tones, each backed by a 25-Year Residential / 10-Year Commercial warranty and FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. The Misty Tree Series is available to order through our Santa Clara showroom.

Colors in the Misty Tree

The Misty Tree Series offers six colorways — Denali, Georgia Gray, Hurricane Tawny, Imperial Coffee, Rocca, and Sequoia Pale — spanning a medium grey, warm light-brown tones, and soft medium-beige neutrals. The range leans toward warm, livable neutrals rather than stark contrast, so most colors read comfortably in both bright, sunlit rooms and rooms with less natural light. Georgia Gray is the coolest option in the lineup for a more contemporary palette, while Imperial Coffee and Hurricane Tawny sit at the warmer, deeper end.

Best uses for Misty Tree

  • Kitchens & bathrooms — the SPC core is 100% waterproof, so spills and splashes around sinks, tubs, and appliances are not a concern.
  • Basements & below-grade rooms — rated for above, on, and below-grade installation, including over concrete with the required 6-mil vapor barrier.
  • High-traffic homes & pet households — the 20 mil wear layer stands up to daily foot traffic, claws, and everyday scuffs.
  • Open-concept & great rooms — the 72″ plank length covers more floor per board, cutting down on seams for a more dramatic, continuous look across large open spaces.
  • Radiant-heat floors — compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant systems as long as the surface temperature stays at or below 85 degrees F.
  • Rental properties — the floating click-lock install goes down without glue or nails, and individual planks can be replaced without disturbing the whole floor.

Choosing a color from the Misty Tree

Lighter tones like Denali and Sequoia Pale open up smaller or north-facing rooms and pair well with white or light cabinetry, while Georgia Gray suits a cooler, contemporary palette and the deeper Imperial Coffee and Hurricane Tawny ground open floor plans while hiding everyday dust and scuffs. Because SPC color and sheen can read differently under LED versus natural light, we recommend viewing a physical sample of any Misty Tree color at our Santa Clara showroom before ordering.

Frequently asked questions about the Misty Tree

Is Misty Tree SPC flooring waterproof?
Yes. The Stone Polymer Core is 100% waterproof with no time limit, so it can be installed in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and basements without concern for standing water or spills.
Can Misty Tree be installed over radiant heat?
Yes, Misty Tree is compatible with hydronic and embedded radiant-heat systems, provided the floor’s surface temperature never exceeds 85 degrees F.
Do I need to buy separate underlayment?
No. Every plank has a pre-attached acoustic EVA pad, and additional underlayment is not permitted. Over concrete subfloors, only the required 6-mil moisture/vapor barrier is added.
How many cartons of Misty Tree do I need?
Each carton covers 27.17 sq ft. Measure the room, add roughly 10% for cuts and waste, and divide by 27.17 to get the carton count — our Santa Clara showroom can help confirm the order for your space.
Is the 72″ plank harder to install than a shorter plank?
No. Misty Tree installs the same way as any floating click-lock SPC floor — start left to right and stagger end joints by at least 6″. The longer 72″ length simply means fewer joints and fewer cartons handled per square foot.
