Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Greystone when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The surface of Greystone is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — measuring about 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, with excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. In everyday use, it's a step up from the standard-duty wear layers.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Greystone has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close, open cathedral grain arcs down the center of each plank in a calm, even rhythm. Small pin knots sit spaced across the boards, joined by fine mineral veining that traces the figure without cluttering it. The 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Greystone is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
