Quick Answer

What is Eastern Cottonwood?

Eastern Cottonwood is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor in a warm sandy beige shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Eastern Cottonwood when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

This floor has a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.51 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, providing excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Eastern Cottonwood has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.

What does the plank surface look like?

The plank surface shows a looping cathedral figure, its peaks rising and opening down the center of each board between long, feather-fine grain lines. A few small knots split into fine hairline checks, and scattered pin knots dot the face at a moderate spacing. It reads as gentle, natural variation rather than heavy rustic character, keeping each Eastern Cottonwood plank calm but never flat.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1.5mm Bioguardian anti-bacterial EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Eastern Cottonwood is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Under the bright midday side light here, Eastern Cottonwood brightens to a soft, sandy pale and shows its warmth without tipping yellow. In a lower or north-facing space, or under evening lamps, it warms a shade toward a mellow tan and stays warm rather than sliding grey. The tone reads calm and even throughout, an easy warm-neutral to plan a room around.

Overview

Up close, Eastern Cottonwood reads as a soft, sandy beige warmed by a gentle wheat undertone, light enough to keep a room feeling open. Looping cathedral peaks and long, feather-fine grain lines run the length of each board, with a few small knots opening into hairline checks for quiet character. In the living room we photographed, that light warmth calms a cool palette of poured concrete and charcoal without turning cold itself. Eastern Cottonwood suits open, modern spaces that want warmth in the floor but restraint everywhere else.

A light, sandy warmth that keeps a concrete-and-charcoal room from feeling cold.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
Installed, Eastern Cottonwood runs beneath a charcoal sectional and a cream tufted sofa, with a low black coffee table and metallic vases set against a poured-concrete panel wall. Midday light pours in through a floor-to-ceiling window framing a mountain view, and the floor's warm sand tone keeps that cool, industrial mix from feeling hard. A potted palm in the corner reads bright against the light beige, so the whole living room feels modern and calm rather than stark.
Will it match my cabinets?
Eastern Cottonwood is a flexible warm-neutral, so it pairs easily with cabinetry across the range. Crisp white and cream fronts sit lightly above its sandy warmth, warm wood-tone cabinets echo its beige without competing, and even charcoal or black cabinets pick up a little warmth from the floor below. If your cabinets lean cool grey, the soft warm undertone in Eastern Cottonwood helps bridge them toward the rest of a warm room.
How does this color read in a windowless basement?
In a windowless basement or a low-light room, Eastern Cottonwood keeps its warmth and does not go murky or grey the way a cooler beige can. Warm-white bulbs (around 2700-3000K) bring out its sandy tone, while very cool bulbs can flatten it. Because it is a light color, it also helps a dim, enclosed room feel a little more open.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
Yes. The warm sand tone of Eastern Cottonwood brings out the deep green of a potted palm or trailing houseplants, and its light beige keeps foliage looking fresh instead of washed out. The calm, low-contrast surface lets a leafy corner be the brightest color in the room.
