Quick Answer
What is Sand Dollar Oak?
Sand Dollar Oak is a waterproof, wood-look WPC floor in a light brown tone, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.
Is it waterproof?
Yes — 100% waterproof. A splash at the sink or a dropped glass wipes up without harming Sand Dollar Oak when cleaned promptly; don't leave water standing. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.
How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?
The construction includes a 20 mil wear layer — roughly 0.51 mm thick — designed for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.
Will it hold up to daily life?
Sand Dollar Oak has a 20 mil protective layer — thicker than the thin wear layers on entry-level LVT. That's the physical protective film above the print, sealed by finish.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close the Sand Dollar Oak plank is heavily weathered. Dark knots sit among long splits and open cracks, with deep fissures cut into the surface and heavy character marks throughout. No two boards match — the variation runs strong from plank to plank, some carrying big knots and splits, others calmer. It is a rustic, worked-over look with a moderate scattering of large character knots rather than a clean, uniform grain. The golden-tan color threads through all of it, so even with the rough detail the surface stays warm rather than grey or severe.
Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?
The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Sand Dollar Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.
Is it safe for indoor air?
Yes — Sand Dollar Oak carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.
Will this color work in my room?
Sand Dollar Oak reads as a warm light brown with a golden-tan cast, and the bright side-on daylight this room gets in the morning lifts that warmth so the floor looks fresh rather than heavy. In a space with a good window, the golden cast comes forward and the color stays light and cheerful through the day; in a dimmer or north-facing room it deepens a little and reads warmer. Against bright white walls it looks clean and current, and it takes warm accent colors — rust, terracotta, mustard — comfortably. If you want a light floor that still has real warmth to it rather than a flat, cool tone, Sand Dollar Oak lands there.

Overview
The pull of Sand Dollar Oak is its weathering — dark knots, long splits, and deep fissures run across boards that differ noticeably from one to the next. Beneath that worked-over surface, a mellow golden-tan cast keeps the light, honeyed tone from going flat, so the floor reads fresh and cheerful rather than rough. In the photographed sitting room it plays against bright white walls in a modern, minimalist setup, where the heavy character of the planks is the one busy element in an otherwise clean corner. Morning light crosses the space from a side window and picks up the golden warmth in the grain. Sand Dollar Oak suits a small, bright room styled around a few strong pieces — the kind of accent corner you build around one good chair.
A heavily weathered, character-rich plank kept warm and cheerful by a golden-tan cast — the one bold note in a clean, minimalist corner.
