What is Seine?

How durable is it — what's the AC rating?

Seine has an AC4 rating, so it resists everyday abrasion very well — though no laminate is truly scratch-proof. Felt pads under furniture and a mat at the door keep grit from marking it.

How realistic does the wood look?

Laminate gives a realistic wood look, but it's honest to remember it's a print: it won't have the true board-to-board variation of natural wood, and it can't be sanded or refinished. What you gain is a convincing look with easy upkeep.

Is it waterproof?

Waterproof doesn't mean maintenance-free. Seine shrugs off spills and mopping, but standing water left for hours, a leak, or a wet subfloor can still cause trouble — so wipe puddles promptly and fix leaks quickly to keep it at its best.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, most of Seine's surface runs in a calm, straight grain broken by gentle cathedral arches, with feathered crown detail keeping the rhythm from looking flat. One board stands apart with a knotted, almost burl-like swirl of figure -- a striking accent within the print rather than a plain repeat you'll see on every board. Knotting elsewhere stays light, just a scatter of small marks, so the surface reads clean from a few feet back with genuine variation up close.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

A floating laminate always installs over an underlayment, which cushions footfall and takes the hollow click out of the floor, so it stays quieter underfoot — the difference is easiest to hear upstairs or in a condo. Seine uses the underlayment specified for it, whether that's pre-attached or a separate roll. Over a concrete slab, add a 6-mil poly moisture barrier under the floor as well — separate from the acoustic pad — since a floating laminate isn't itself a moisture barrier; that step protects the boards from slab humidity and doesn't change how quiet the floor feels.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Seine carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Seine is light-aware: photographed under bright midday daylight in a modern contemporary kitchen, its soft greige-beige tone stays light and airy rather than washing out, keeping its cast warm rather than turning cool next to white cabinetry.
