What is Pelican?

Pelican is a wood-look SPC floor built around a muted greyed brown color, with a durable, heavy-traffic wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Built for daily life: mop-and-go cleaning, occasional spills, and pet accidents wiped up promptly; clean standing water quickly. Indoor use only — outdoor installation is not approved.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

The plank features a 20 mil wear layer — which works out to 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, providing excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Office chair wheels, spike-heel point loads, and dragged furniture all concentrate force. Pelican's 20 mil wear layer plus 6mm rigid SPC core manages this better than laminate — SPC resists crush-indent where laminate high-density fiberboard would dent permanently.

What does the plank surface look like?

The Pelican plank shows open flowing grain with soft cathedral figure and tight looping arches, dotted with several small knots and fine mineral streaks. Moderate board-to-board variation gives it a natural, unforced texture that reads organic rather than uniform.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 1mm acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Pelican is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Pelican carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Pelican reads minimal and organic, and in the soft natural daylight of the photographed lounge the olive-taupe undertone stays earthy and grounded against raw concrete. Brighter light lifts the greyed brown toward a warmer sand, while indirect light lets the olive cast settle in. It sits beautifully with rust, white, and natural greenery.
