Quick Answer
What is Paullo?
Paullo is a genuine engineered hardwood floor built around a golden amber honey color, with moderate knots, visible grain, and natural color variation for an earthy, grounded feel.
Is it waterproof?
Engineered hardwood is water-resistant, not waterproof. Paullo handles the everyday humidity swings that trouble solid wood, though it isn't built for wet areas like showers or flood-prone slabs — for those, a waterproof floor is the right call.
Can it be refinished?
Unlike solid hardwood, engineered hardwood can only be refinished as far as its real-wood veneer allows. With its 3mm veneer, Paullo gives a flooring professional real room to work with when it eventually needs refinishing. Until then, a buff-and-recoat or a deep clean is usually all it takes — a deeper sand-down is there for later, once a professional has confirmed how much veneer remains.
What does the plank surface look like?
Up close, Paullo shows an open cathedral grain with real movement -- the grain lines arch and swirl rather than run in tight, straight rows. A small knot cluster sits near the top of a few boards, one long pin knot lands mid-plank, and a darker, more defined knot mark shows on another board. That mix sits toward the character end of this collection's clear-to-rustic grading system: no two boards read quite the same, and the surface keeps a visibly real, unrepeated texture from plank to plank.
Will this color work in my room?
Paullo's warm amber-honey tone sits on the lighter end of the blonde family, so it reads bright and inviting rather than pale or washed out. Because the undertone leans warm, it pairs comfortably with both warm and cool wall colors -- it won't fight a cooler grey wall, and it deepens a naturally warm room even further. In bright daylight the color lifts toward a golden glow; in softer indoor light it shifts into a steadier honey tone without losing its warmth.

Overview
Real board-to-board character runs through Paullo's boards, not a repeating print -- the grain moves in an open cathedral pattern with strong figure, over a real European Oak veneer on an 8-ply engineered core. The color is a rich golden honey with warm amber undertones -- a warm, sunlit blonde that reads bright rather than pale. This board run sits toward the character end of the Elite Kollection's clear-to-rustic grading spectrum, which is why those marks ship in the box instead of being sorted out. At 9-1/2 inches wide with random lengths up to 7'3", the wide-format planks let that grain and color carry across the floor without breaking it into short, busy segments. It suits living rooms, dining rooms, and open-concept spaces built around a warm, characterful floor -- less a fit for a room aiming for a flat, uniform surface. Ideal for someone who wants the knots and grain doing the visual work -- if you'd prefer a calmer, tighter grain with fewer knots, the clear end of the same grading system fits that better.
A warm honey-gold European Oak engineered floor graded from clear to rustic, so every board shows its own real character.
