Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Nile handles pet accidents, water-bowl spills, and tracked-in mud wiped up promptly without swelling. Clean up standing water quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — roughly 0.51 mm thick — ideal for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. That's a step above the standard-duty wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Nile's 20 mil wear layer and finish resist scratching and scuffing over years of use. It wipes clean with a vinyl-safe cleaner and a damp mop, and keeps the printed grain reading consistent across the floor.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, Nile shows a mixed, weathered grain with pronounced character marks and worn distressing across the boards. Vertical light-and-dark streaking gives it strong contrast, and a few small knots turn up here and there rather than in clusters - the look of boards that have seen some age, printed to keep every plank consistent.

There's no separate underlayment to buy and no pad to choose. Nile's factory-attached 1mm IXPE acoustic pad comes bonded to every plank and dampens footfall noise throughout the home — one less material decision and one less install step.
