What is Hurricane Tawny?

Hurricane Tawny is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor built around a soft greige-brown color, with a heavy-duty, high-traffic wear layer for a low-maintenance, practical finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. The rigid core stands up to everyday surface water — spills, mop water, pet accidents — without swelling or delaminating when wiped up promptly. It won't substitute for fixing a standing leak; dry the floor and the source quickly. Not approved for outdoor installation; keep the subfloor dry before and during install.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 28 mil wear layer — measuring about 0.71 mm — well suited to heavy residential use and many commercial applications, giving you outstanding resistance to scratches, scuffs, and long-term abrasion. The extra thickness gives it more long-term wear capacity than thinner layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Minor scratches on Hurricane Tawny stay low-visibility — faint surface marks rather than the bright white scuff lines a glossy floor shows. The 28 mil wear layer hides minor wear within the printed grain pattern, so day-to-day marks blend in rather than standing out.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, the planks are all movement: open cathedral peaks that flow the length of the board, then break into tight, swirling loops where the figure whorls back like a knot of burl. Fine mineral streaking runs along the grain, and a few pin-sized eyes dot the surface at a sparse, natural spacing. It is a busier, more distinctive face than a clean straight-grain plank, so no two boards in Hurricane Tawny look quite alike.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Hurricane Tawny is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?
