Quick Answer

What is Baltic Brown?

Baltic Brown is a rigid, wood-look SPC floor in a muted taupe-brown shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a simple, carefree finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Kitchen reality — dropped pots, splashes, and daily mop-and-go cleaning — won't faze the planks, as long as you wipe spills up promptly and dry any standing water. Not approved for outdoor installation; test the subfloor for moisture before installing.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Baltic Brown has a 20 mil wear layer — that's approximately 0.51 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, delivering excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It runs noticeably thicker than the entry-level wear layers.

Will it hold up to daily life?

Dog nails, cat claws, litter grit, water-bowl splash — Baltic Brown's 20 mil wear layer and finish wipe clean easily and outlast a thinner LVT wear layer under everyday pet traffic. Claws can still leave light surface marks over time like on any hard floor, so trimmed nails and a rug in high-traffic zones help protect the finish.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the plank shows a flowing cathedral grain, but the peaks sit low and soft rather than sharp, so the figure reads gentle and even from board to board. A few pin-sized knots and light flecking break up the face just enough to look natural, never busy or rustic. Printed detail shifts subtly plank to plank, so a full floor keeps an even, natural rhythm across the room.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The 2mm solution EVA acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Baltic Brown is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Will this color work in my room?

Baltic Brown's greige warmth is what keeps this light brown from reading cold or flat. In bright, south-facing daylight the taupe lifts and the greige cast turns soft and sandy; in a lower-light north room or under evening lamps it deepens a shade toward a warmer mushroom brown. Either way it stays a restful mid-neutral that pairs easily with white trim, cool grays, and warm off-whites.

Overview

A greige undertone runs through Baltic Brown's light taupe base, keeping the warmth soft and a shade cooler than a straight tan. The figure is gentle -- flowing cathedral arcs with low, soft peaks, a few small pin knots, and fine flecks that give the printed surface quiet variation with no busy character marks. As a rigid click-lock plank it wears well under everyday traffic, spills, and pet claws, so it suits bedrooms, home offices, and calm, pared-back living rooms where you want the floor to stay restful rather than lead. Baltic Brown reads light and unfussy, an easy neutral for a minimalist palette.

Greige-warmed and quiet underfoot -- a light brown that keeps a room calm.

Frequently asked questions

Will it match my cabinets?
With its muted taupe-brown and soft greige warmth, Baltic Brown sits happily beside a wide range of cabinets. Greige, mushroom, and warm grey fronts blend into its quiet tone, while creamy whites lift the space and keep it from feeling flat. If you want definition, navy or deep charcoal cabinets pop cleanly against this gentle mid-brown backdrop.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
Baltic Brown sits in a muted taupe-brown with a soft greige warmth, so it wears better in dim light than a truly cool tone would. The gentle warmth keeps it from flattening under artificial bulbs, though its mid-depth means a windowless room benefits from layered lighting to keep it from settling too quietly. In a basement it reads calm and grounded rather than dark. Warm-toned lamps bring out its subtle depth and keep the space feeling relaxed.
