Quick Answer

What is Hayes Oak?

Hayes Oak is a wood-look WPC floor in a pale beige shade, with a thick, high-traffic wear layer for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Stable against concrete-slab humidity and seasonal moisture variation, so Hayes Oak suits below-grade rooms once the slab passes a moisture test; clean up standing water promptly. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 20 mil wear layer — about 0.51 mm — ideal for heavy residential use and many light-commercial applications, giving you excellent protection against everyday scratches, scuffs, and abrasion. It sits at the thicker, harder-wearing end of the range.

Will it hold up to daily life?

At 20 mil, Hayes Oak's wear layer sits on the thicker end for residential flooring, which is why it stands up well to heavy day-to-day use. The 8mm construction gives it a solid, stable feel underfoot in busy rooms.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close the Hayes Oak plank shows a flowing cathedral figure, with the grain rising from the edges toward a broad center crown and broken by cross-sawn marks that give the surface a lightly rustic, hand-worked look. Faint mineral streaks thread through here and there, and small knots show up only occasionally, sparse enough that no two planks read as busy. The pattern is printed onto the surface over a rigid core, so it stays crisp and consistent underfoot from board to board.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

The attached acoustic layer damps the hollow "click" sound characteristic of floating floors. Hayes Oak is quieter underfoot than LVT with a loose pad — both for the walker and for rooms below in multi-story homes.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Hayes Oak carries GREENGUARD Gold certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Hayes Oak is a warm pale beige, and under the bright midday light of a many-windowed room that warmth lifts rather than yellows, so the floor reads clean and airy, closer to soft sand than to grey. In a north-facing or lower-lit space it reads a shade deeper and cozier, still light but with a little more greige showing. Because the tone stays neutral and warm, it pairs easily with soft white walls, cool blues and sages, or natural linen and rattan, and it never fights a brighter accent.

Overview

Flowing cathedral grain runs the length of every Hayes Oak board, flaring to a soft peak before trailing off into cross-sawn character marks and faint mineral streaks. The color underneath is a pale sandy beige washed with a greige softness, warm enough to feel welcoming but light enough to keep a room bright and open. Only a few small knots turn up here and there, so the face reads calm and uncluttered rather than busy. Hayes Oak leans Scandinavian, pale and simple and easy to live with, and it suits an everyday dining room, a light-filled kitchen, or any space where you want the floor to stay quiet and let the daylight do the work.

A calm, whitewashed greige with sweeping grain and only the odd small knot, Hayes Oak keeps a bright room simple.

Frequently asked questions

What does it look like installed in a real room?
In the photographed room, Hayes Oak runs wall to wall under an oval dining table ringed with pale bentwood chairs, in a bright, pared-back Scandinavian dining room. Soft white walls and pale cabinetry keep everything light, while a simple wall clock, clear glass vases, and a cluster of potted plants add most of the color. Tall windows line the space, so at midday the floor looks sun-washed and open, and the whole scene stays clean and uncluttered, exactly the nordic simplicity the room is going for.
Will it match my cabinets?
Hayes Oak is an easy match for white or off-white cabinets, which is exactly how it was shown, the pale warm beige sitting softly against bright cabinetry without the hard contrast a darker floor would bring. It works just as well with pale grey or greige cabinets for a tonal, low-contrast look, and with warm wood-tone cabinetry the shared warmth keeps things relaxed. Very dark or high-gloss cabinets are the one pairing to think twice about, since the floor is quiet by nature.
Will it still look this bright in a windowless basement?
In a windowless room or a basement, Hayes Oak reads better than most pale floors because its warmth keeps it from going flat or grey under artificial light. Warm-white bulbs bring out the sandy beige and the soft greige, while very cool LEDs can wash it toward grey, so lean warm. It will look a little deeper and cozier than it does in a sun-filled room, but it stays light enough to keep a lower-level space from feeling closed in.
Does this floor work with indoor plants?
This is a floor that gets on well with a room full of plants. The WPC core is 100% waterproof against topical moisture, so the odd drip from watering a pot or filling a glass vase wipes up without a mark, and the surface will not swell or stain the way a laminate might. Just blot spills when they happen rather than letting water pool and run over a plank edge, keep saucers under the pots, and Hayes Oak will stay looking as fresh as the day it went down.
