What is Paragon?

Paragon is a waterproof, wood-look SPC floor built around a warm taupe-brown color, with a thick, heavy-wear surface for a durable, easy-care finish.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — 100% waterproof. Unlike engineered hardwood or laminate, surface spills don't soak in, and the rigid core won't cup or buckle. Wipe up spills and pet accidents promptly and don't leave standing water. Not approved for outdoor installation.

How durable is it, and what traffic can it take?

Every plank is finished with a 28 mil wear layer — about 0.71 mm — appropriate for heavy residential use and many commercial applications, so you get outstanding resistance to scratches, scuffs, and long-term abrasion. That puts it toward the top of the SPC wear-layer range.

Will it hold up to daily life?

What 28 mil typically means in real homes: many years of everyday household use without visible wear-through. Paragon in heavy-traffic zones (kitchen, entry) works hardest and shows the first signs soonest; quieter rooms like bedrooms keep their look longest.

What does the plank surface look like?

Up close, Diamond Paragon's grain moves in soft, low arches that repeat gently down each plank rather than looping into tight, swirling curves. The pin knots are genuinely small and sparse -- more a quiet accent than a focal point -- and the light mineral haze reads as soft color variation rather than a visible pattern.

Quiet enough upstairs or in a condo?

There's no separate underlayment to buy and no pad to choose. Paragon's factory-attached acoustic pad comes bonded to every plank and dampens footfall noise throughout the home — one less material decision and one less install step.

Is it safe for indoor air?

Yes — Paragon carries FloorScore certification, independently tested for low chemical emissions. That matters most for households with allergies, asthma, or young children.

Will this color work in my room?

Diamond Paragon reads as a warm, grounded taupe-brown in most everyday light -- neither pale nor dark, so it reads about the same in a cooler north-facing room and a sunnier south-facing one without swinging noticeably warmer or cooler.
